Senior Interior Designer

Role Description The Senior Interior Designer role at GMR Grupo Mendoza Robles is a part-time hybrid position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with flexibility for some work from home. The Senior Interior Designer will lead interior design projects from concept through completion, including client briefings, conceptual development, and spatial planning. Responsibilities include preparing design presentations, coordinating FF&E selections, producing and reviewing construction drawings, and ensuring design intent is maintained throughout project execution. The role involves close collaboration with architects, engineers, suppliers, and contractors, as well as regular site visits to oversee quality, timelines, and adherence to specifications. The Senior Interior Designer will also mentor junior team members, support project documentation, and contribute to maintaining design standards and best practices.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in Interior Design, with strong capabilities in Space Planning to create functional, aesthetic, and compliant layouts.
• Solid understanding of Architecture principles to coordinate interior concepts with overall building design and technical requirements.
• Proficiency in producing and reviewing Construction Drawings, including detailed plans, elevations, and sections for implementation on site.
• Hands-on experience with FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), including selection, specification, and coordination with vendors and contractors.
• Relevant higher education in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Advanced skills in industry-standard design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar), and presentation tools.
• Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects in a part-time capacity.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with clients, multidisciplinary teams, and external partners.
• Experience with local building codes, materials, and construction practices in the UAE or GCC region is an advantage.
• A portfolio demonstrating high-quality interior design projects across residential, commercial, or hospitality sectors.
