As a Senior Manager Data Engineering at Optum, you'll be leading the work with Stars Quality capability for Optum Health incorporating OptumCare and Optum Home & Community, strategically aimed at closing unrealized Stars opportunities for delegated UHC Members
You will be responsible for leading the team that is focused on the integration of multiple complex data sources into our existing on-premises big data platform with a mix of different technology (i.e., Kubernetes, Hadoop etc.) and various data applications (i.e. Spark, Hive, HBase, Airflow).
You will be responsible for the migration of the existing big data platform from on premise to the cloud using technology like Kafka, Azure Databricks and Snowflake.
You will be a thought leader, focused on innovation; developing proofs of concepts that leverage data in new and exciting ways as well as driving best practices and standards across the engineering team.
You will work closely with our business users to understand their needs and priorities with the autonomy to propose new solutions and leverage new technologies, while being supported by a wider team of Data Engineers, Business Analysts and Data Scientists.
