Do you enjoy taking a complex board from schematic to production release, and care as much about EMC, manufacturability and testability as about the routing itself?
Sigma Connectivity is looking for a Senior PCB Design Engineer with deep, hands-on Altium Designer experience. You’ll own the PCB design of complex electronics products, from first concept to manufacturing release. Romania, fully remote.
What you’ll do
- Own PCB design end to end in Altium Designer: schematic input, placement, routing, design reviews, manufacturing data and release
- Lay out complex multi-layer boards for high-speed digital, analog and mixed-signal electronics
- Own the signal-integrity details: impedance-controlled routing, differential pairs, length matching and high-speed interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet and MIPI
- Design power distribution, grounding, planes and decoupling with SI, PI and EMC/EMI in mind from the start
- Work with HDI, fine-pitch BGAs and dense layouts where the product needs it
- Make every design DFM/DFA/DFT-ready, and generate and verify Gerber/ODB++, drill, pick-and-place and BOM documentation
- Review designs with hardware, mechanical and manufacturing engineers, work directly with PCB manufacturers and EMS partners, and support prototype bring-up, debugging and iterations
- Maintain schematic and PCB libraries, footprints, design rules and templates, and help shape how we do E-CAD
What you bring
- 7+ years of professional PCB/E-CAD design, including complex, production-ready multi-layer boards
- Advanced, hands-on Altium Designer skills
- Strong understanding of stack-ups, controlled impedance and routing constraints
- Layout experience with high-speed interfaces (DDR, Ethernet, USB, PCIe, MIPI or similar)
- Solid analog, digital and power layout fundamentals, plus strong EMC/EMI design knowledge
- Experience with BGA, fine-pitch and high-density designs
- Hands-on DFM/DFA/DFT knowledge and experience working with PCB/PCBA suppliers
- The confidence to own a design on your own, from requirements to release
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Professional working English
Nice to have
- RF or high-current/power electronics layout
- HDI, microvias, advanced stack-ups or rigid-flex
- SI/PI simulation and analysis
- IPC design standards
- Automotive, industrial, medical or other regulated product development
- MCAD collaboration and mechanical integration
- Altium 365, managed component libraries and lifecycle management
You’ll fit right in if…
You’re a senior, hands-on designer who enjoys hard layout problems. You know a board isn’t done when the routing is: electrical performance, EMC, manufacturability, testability, reliability and cost all count. You work independently and collaborate easily with hardware, mechanical, firmware and manufacturing colleagues.
