Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role Description The Senior Quantity Surveyor will work part time in a remote capacity, providing expert support on cost-related aspects of construction and infrastructure projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), monitoring project costs, and developing cost plans aligned with project objectives. The role involves ongoing cost control, evaluating project variations, and producing accurate and timely cost reports for stakeholders. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and external partners to ensure financial efficiency, risk awareness, and adherence to budgets across all stages of the project lifecycle. The individual will also contribute to improving internal processes and advising on best practices in cost management.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Cost Control and Cost Management to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets.
• Candidates should possess solid experience in Cost Planning and Cost Reporting to support accurate forecasting and transparent financial communication.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in BOQ preparation and review to ensure clear, detailed, and reliable project documentation.
• Relevant academic qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in managing costs for construction or infrastructure projects, preferably in diverse or complex environments.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time schedules effectively, and collaborate virtually with multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with standard industry contracts and procurement methods; professional certification or membership in a recognized quantity surveying body is an advantage.
