Senior Regulatory Food Specialist

Role Description The Senior Regulatory Food Specialist is a part-time remote role responsible for overseeing food-related regulatory compliance and standards for initiatives associated with ICAI Bahrain. The role involves reviewing food preparation and service practices for alignment with local and international regulations, guidelines, and best practices. The specialist will develop and update regulatory documentation, policies, and guidance materials related to food and beverage operations, and provide advisory support to relevant stakeholders. Day-to-day tasks include assessing food safety procedures, advising on risk mitigation, preparing clear reports and recommendations, and collaborating with professionals who manage events or services involving food. The individual will also participate in virtual meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance regulatory awareness within the Chapter’s network.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Food Preparation and Cooking, with a strong understanding of safe and hygienic practices.
• Candidates should possess skills related to Food & Beverage operations, including familiarity with industry standards and quality control.
• Candidates should possess skills in Food Service, with experience in service workflows, handling, and customer-facing environments.
• Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal reporting on regulatory and safety matters.
• In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and related compliance frameworks.
• Experience in a senior or specialist food regulatory, quality assurance, or food safety role.
• Relevant academic background in food science, nutrition, hospitality management, or a closely related field is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time schedules effectively, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
