Senior Regulatory Food Specialist

Role Description This is a part-time, remote Senior Regulatory Food Specialist role. The specialist will review and interpret food-related regulations and standards that may impact company operations, documentation, and processes. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing regulatory requirements, preparing compliant guidance documents, and advising internal teams on food handling, preparation, and safety considerations where relevant to staff facilities or contracted services. The role involves collaborating with procurement, operations, and health and safety teams to ensure food service practices meet applicable regulatory, quality, and safety criteria. The specialist may also develop training materials, support audits, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regional and international food regulations to mitigate compliance risks.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Food Preparation and Cooking, with a thorough understanding of safe handling and hygiene practices.
• Candidates should possess experience in Food Service and the broader Food & Beverage environment, including familiarity with operational workflows and quality standards.
• Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to interpret regulations clearly and provide practical guidance to diverse stakeholders.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of food safety regulations, standards, and certification schemes (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, or equivalent).
• Candidates should possess the ability to review and prepare regulatory documentation, policies, and training materials with attention to detail.
• Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Candidates should possess relevant education in food science, nutrition, public health, or a related field; advanced or specialized certifications are an advantage.
• Candidates should possess the capability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and collaborate across teams and cultures.
