Position Summary

The Reinsurance Accounting Analyst will support the Reinsurance Accounting function in the processing, reconciliation, payment, and collections of assumed and ceded reinsurance activity. This role will work closely with the Director of Reinsurance Accounting and the Team to provide hands-on support across monthly close activities, reinsurance processing, data validation, and ongoing financial Treaty billing as well as assumed and small claims collections.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, comfortable working with large volumes of financial data, and able to investigate discrepancies across multiple systems and data sources. This position requires strong attention to detail, follow-through, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly and quarterly reinsurance accounting Treaty Bordereau billing.
• Review reinsurance data for completeness, accuracy, and proper accounting treatment.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly reinsurance accounting Treaty Bordereau billing.
• Review reinsurance data for completeness, accuracy, and proper accounting treatment.
• Assist with the quarterly delegated/program and assumed reinsurance activity on an ongoing basis.
• Process monthly loss billings.
• Prepare and maintain reconciliations, schedules, supporting workpapers, and account analyses.
• Investigate unusual or aged balances and coordinate resolution with appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
• Track outstanding issues and follow up with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Work collaboratively with Finance, Underwriting, Operations, and other business partners.
• Communicate with brokers, reinsurers, and other external parties when necessary to resolve accounting or reporting issues.
• Provide additional support to the Facultative premium booking and payments.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

• 5-7 years of related insurance and reinsurance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

• Strong attention to detail and able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills are required.

• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

• Knowledge of current principles and practices of reinsurance, claims and accounting functions.



SALARY: The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, MSIG USA will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
