・AI / Deep Learning

■Key Highlights
- Drive the real-world deployment of Physical AI at a prominent, proven leader in proprietary LLM development, leveraging hands-on robotics hardware expertise and AI-model system integration skills.
- Enjoy a highly flexible and diverse work environment supported by a full-remote model and super-flextime policy (no core hours).
- Work at the forefront of Physical AI, analyzing real-world spatial data to automate and control advanced robots and edge devices.
■Salary Range
- JPY 6,000,000 – 15,000,000 / year
■Background & Mission
We have established a top-tier track record in Japan across large language model (LLM) R&D and commercial deployment. Our next frontier is Embodied AI—bridging the rich semantic understanding of LLMs/VLMs with the physical world to tackle complex real-world challenges.
The mission of this role is to spearhead the real-world deployment of Physical AI through hands-on robotics engineering and seamless AI system integration. When off-the-shelf robots or end-effectors fall short, you will combine rapid prototyping capabilities (such as 3D printing) with an insatiable drive for cutting-edge AI to elevate robotic systems into reliable, production-ready solutions.
■Key Responsibilities
Lead an extensive scope of work centered on physical hardware (mechatronics) while bridging into software domains such as AI model implementation and system integration:
- Hardware Requirements Definition & Prototyping:
- Select, specify, and configure optimal robotic setups (robotic arms, sensors, etc.) to accomplish specific client tasks.
- Rapidly resolve edge-case physical challenges where commercial grippers or fixtures fall short, utilizing 3D CAD and 3D printers to design and manufacture custom parts.
- System Integration & Software Development (ROS 2):
- Integrate inference outputs from Embodied AI models onto physical hardware for safe, accurate real-time execution.
- Implement robust control algorithms in Python or C++, accounting for physical hardware characteristics such as latency, backlash, and friction.
- Feedback & Technical Direction for AI R&D:
- Collaborate closely with AI researchers to define physical constraints (e.g., motor torque limits, control loop frequencies) as baseline parameters for model training.
- Analyze real-world testing data to isolate root causes—determining whether to iterate on hardware or expand AI training datasets—and feed actionable insights back into the continuous training loop.
■Required Qualifications (Must-Have)
- Mechatronics Expertise & Practical Problem-Solving: Foundational knowledge in robotics, mechanical, or electrical engineering, with the ability to isolate and debug hardware/software failures down to the physical layer.
- Robot Control Software Development: Professional software development and debugging experience in Linux environments using Python or C++.
- Hands-on ROS 2 Experience: Proven track record architecting and deploying robotic systems using ROS / ROS 2.
- Passion for AI & Rapid Technical Learning: A solid grasp of core machine learning concepts and an active drive to engage in technical discussions with AI engineers regarding algorithmic constraints and model architecture (prior hands-on AI model development experience is not required).
