Senior Scrum Master – Merchant Solutions

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a Senior Scrum Master to support Agile delivery within an international banking and payment technology environment. The role focuses on coordinating cross-functional engineering teams, facilitating Scrum processes, removing delivery blockers, and managing dependencies across complex Merchant Solutions and payment processing platforms. The Scrum Master will work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams to improve delivery efficiency, ensure successful software releases, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  

• Support engineering teams in achieving sprint goals and delivery milestones.
  

• Collaborate with Product Owners on backlog refinement and prioritisation.
  

• Identify and remove blockers affecting software delivery.
  

• Manage dependencies across multiple development and technology teams.
  

• Monitor sprint progress, delivery KPIs, risks, and timelines.
  

• Coordinate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  

• Drive continuous improvement and promote Agile best practices.
  

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master in software development environments.
  

• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and Scrum frameworks.
  

• Experience in banking, payments, or financial services.
  

• Experience coordinating cross-functional engineering teams.
  

• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  

• Ability to identify blockers and manage cross-team dependencies.
  

• Experience supporting Product Owners and backlog management.
  

• Knowledge of Agile delivery metrics and performance tracking.
  

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  

• Strong professional English.

• Experience with Merchant Solutions, payment gateways, or acquiring platforms.
  

• Knowledge of card payments, transaction processing, and settlement systems.
  

• Experience with payment APIs and enterprise integrations.
  

• Scrum certifications (PSM, CSM, or equivalent).
  

• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
  

• Knowledge of SAFe or scaled Agile frameworks.
  

• Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
