Role description:
The Social Media Team Lead is responsible for the operational delivery of the global social media strategy. The role manages day-to-day team operations, translates strategic priorities into scalable execution plans, and ensures consistent, high-quality delivery across social channels, employee advocacy, social listening, and platform governance. The role drives operational excellence through data, insights, and continuous improvement to support Arcadis’ strategic priorities and business objectives.
Role accountabilities:
Social Media Strategy & Channel Activation
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of the global social media strategy across priority channels, ensuring activity is aligned to global content priorities and business objectives.
- Translate global priorities into clear social media activation plans that build reach, relevance, authority and demand.
- Develop and maintain an insight-led social content and activation roadmap, using audience, channel and performance data to inform planning, optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Translate the strategic channel direction set by the Global Digital Marketing Director and Global Social Media Manager into operational plans, team priorities, and scalable delivery across social channels, employee advocacy, and platform governance.
- Identify opportunities to improve social media impact through testing, new formats, platform innovation, employee advocacy and stronger integration with paid media and wider channel activity.
Social Media Operations & Employee Advocacy
- Establish and maintain efficient operational processes for employee advocacy (Brand Ambassador Program), including board configuration, user management, stakeholder engagement, performance reporting, content planning and continuous optimisation.

- Set high standards for social media execution, including channel governance, content quality, stakeholder briefing, publishing workflows, community engagement and reporting.

- Identify, escalate and support the management of potential reputational risks, sensitive issues or negative sentiment arising through social media activity, working with relevant stakeholders where required.

- Maintain oversight of community engagement trends, audience sentiment and channel health, providing recommendations to improve engagement, protect brand reputation and enhance the audience experience.

- Champion inclusive, accessible and brand-aligned content across social channels and employee advocacy activity.

- Support the business with clear guidance, toolkits and best practice so global social media standards are applied consistently.

- Managing assigned tasks from the global project request tool on time

- Closely work with the creatives team to request new content to be promoted on social media.

Team Leadership & People Management

- Lead, coach and prioritise the work of the GSSC social media team, creating clarity on objectives, accountabilities, delivery standards and ways of working.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning and operational excellence within the social media team.

- Support resource planning, workload prioritisation and capability development to ensure the team can effectively deliver against business priorities.

Stakeholder Partnership & Integrated Marketing

- Work with global stakeholders to ensure social media plans support commercially relevant priorities and audience needs.

- Collaborate with paid media, organic social, email, web and analytics teams to connect channel activity and improve the full audience journey.

- Build strong relationships with global, regional and local stakeholders to align social media activity with business objectives and maximise impact.

- Evaluate individual and team performance following KPIs set by the Global Social Media Manager

- Responsible for PDR, GPS, rewards and recognition, upskilling, discipline management, coaching and mentoring of direct reports.

Performance, Measurement & Optimisation

- Provide clear reporting and recommendations that show how social media contributes to business growth, priority topic authority, audience engagement and brand performance.

- Contribute to the development of measurement frameworks, dashboards and performance narratives that help stakeholders understand impact and make better decisions.

- Use channel, audience and performance insights to optimise activity, improve effectiveness and inform future planning.
Platform Management & Governance
- Act as a subject matter expert for Arcadis' priority social media platforms, maintaining knowledge of platform developments, algorithms and emerging trends.
- Manage and optimise Oktopost as the enterprise social media management platform, including governance, user management, publishing workflows, reporting and employee advocacy capabilities.
- Ensure social media activity follows platform-specific best practices across LinkedIn, YouTube, Meta and other priority channels to maximise reach, engagement and performance.
- Lead social listening activities to monitor audience sentiment, industry conversations, competitor activity and brand perception, providing actionable insights and early identification of opportunities or reputational risks.
- Maintain channel governance, publishing standards and platform guidelines to ensure consistent, compliant and brand-aligned execution.
- Provide guidance, training and best practice recommendations to stakeholders on effective social media use.
- Evaluate new platform features, tools and innovations, recommending and implementing enhancements that improve performance and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, or any Business-related courses
Job-Related Experience:
6+ years of cumulative experience in social media marketing, managing social platforms including but not limited to LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Social Media Management Platforms such as Oktopost.
The candidate should have strong social media experience, with the ability to turn strategy into clear delivery plans, lead a team effectively and use insights to improve performance. They should understand how social channels can build awareness, authority, deepen audience engagement and support business growth in a complex, global B2B environment.
Specific knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook,X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
- LinkedIn (certification or hands-on-experience preferred), Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and Tiktok (mandatory, hands-on-experience)
- Hands-on experience with Oktopost or similar social media management software.
- Excellent understanding of LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Meta Business Manager, Google Ads is a plus.
- Good understanding of Google Analytics (UA/GA4) and data visualization software like Google Data Studio.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and able to create engaging presentations
- Experience with task management software like Asana or similar.
