Senior Software Engineer

Brief Position Description: The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for working with both Aptys customers and Aptys internal personnel to design and build Aptys products for use by Aptys customers and their customers as applicable. The Senior Software Engineer also works with internal Aptys personnel and Aptys customers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with the Aptys products and services in both customer and Aptys environments. The Senior Software Engineer interacts with customers on a regular basis. Duties/Responsibilities: Designs, develops, and supports financial applications for use by Aptys customers Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements for existing products Work In a cross-functional team to identify solutions to issues Aptys customers are facing Identify and escalate priority issues as needed Work with other members of the Aptys Development, Product, and Support teams to identify resolutions to issues found during the software development cycle Identify areas with current Aptys products that require enhancement or improvement Develop both unit tests and higher-level tests as part of standard development practices Work with other members of the Aptys Development, Product, and Support teams to support customers as they roll out solutions across thousands of users Research issues discovered by QA or customers to Identify and develop workable solutions Design and build robust scalable solutions to support customer’s workloads Research new technologies, tools, and utilities for possible use in developing and supporting Aptys customers Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to work under pressure to design and develop new product functionality or updates to existing product functionality Ability to work under pressure to resolve customer production issues Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment or independently as needed Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Strong organization skills Strong communication (written and verbal) skills Strong attention to detail Self-motivated Ability to follow standard processes and procedures Ability to work with various configuration management technologies Experience: Undergraduate degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience Master's degree is a plus Experience designing and developing e-commerce systems is required Experience with financial systems a plus In-depth experience with the following technologies or activities: Strong NET experience preferably in C# Strong experience developing ASP.NET applications Strong experience developing and interfacing with web services (WCF and Web API) SQL database design and development UI design and development Problem-solving in a complex environment Payments (check, ACH, credit card, etc...) or other experience related to the financial Industry is preferred Experience scaling infrastructure as demand grows is also a plus Strong interest in emerging technologies, especially mobile and cloud technologies Experience implementing unit tests and automated testing platforms DevOps experience and focus on building and deploying Infrastructure using cloud deployment methodologies About Aptys Here at Aptys, we build systems used by thousands of financial institutions every day to process payments; in fact, we are responsible for providing these payment processing services to approximately one-third of the nation’s financial institutions!
