- Review formulation performance data, including viscosity, pH, density, solubility, stability, reactivity, and other relevant physicochemical properties.
- Analyse the effects of ingredient concentration, processing variables, and material interactions on final product performance.
- Support formulation optimization through structured experimental data review and comparative technical assessments.
- Evaluate formulation robustness under different temperature, humidity, storage, and application conditions.
- Review laboratory results from compatibility, stability, performance, and quality-control testing.
- Assess raw material substitutions and alternative supplier materials for technical suitability and potential formulation impact.
- Investigate formulation failures, phase separation, precipitation, degradation, inconsistent viscosity, and other product quality concerns.
- Provide technical recommendations for improving product functionality, stability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Review technical specifications, formulation records, safety data sheets, certificates of analysis, and supplier documentation.
- Coordinate remotely with laboratory teams to clarify analytical findings and recommend additional testing where necessary.
- Support the development of formulation guidelines, technical evaluation procedures, and standardized documentation.
- Assess product performance against customer specifications and intended industrial applications.
- Prepare formulation assessment reports, technical summaries, risk evaluations, and product development recommendations.
- Support change-control assessments involving ingredient changes, formulation revisions, and supplier qualification.
- Contribute to product quality investigations, corrective action reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor developments in specialty chemical technologies, raw material innovations, and relevant industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Chemistry, or a related discipline; a master's degree is an advantage.
- Significant experience in specialty chemical formulation, product development, industrial chemistry, or chemical process optimization.
- Strong understanding of formulation chemistry, raw material functionality, and chemical compatibility.
- Knowledge of surfactants, polymers, solvents, emulsifiers, stabilizers, dispersants, and other specialty chemical ingredients.
- Experience evaluating physicochemical properties, including viscosity, pH, density, solubility, dispersion, and stability.
- Familiarity with formulation development for applications such as industrial cleaning, coatings, adhesives, water treatment, lubricants, or personal care chemicals.
- Experience interpreting laboratory testing results and assessing formulation performance.
- Understanding of chemical degradation, material interactions, accelerated stability, and storage compatibility.
- Familiarity with relevant ASTM, ISO, and industry-specific testing methods.
- Knowledge of chemical quality management systems and applicable GMP or laboratory quality principles where relevant.
- Understanding of chemical safety documentation, hazard classification, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical reasoning, experimental data interpretation, and technical report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, formulation databases, technical documentation platforms, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical projects in a fully remote environment.
- Fully remote working arrangement within the stated UAE job location.
