Senior Test Analyst

• 6 month contract + 6 month extension
• Hybrid role based in Brisbane CBD

The Senior Test Analyst will develop and maintain automation across a suite of applications and technology layers, including web applications, APIs, databases and reporting solutions.

The successful candidate will be experienced in software testing and test automation, with strong hands-on test automation experience and demonstrated ability to design, develop and maintain robust, reusable and maintainable end-to-end automated test solutions spanning multiple systems and technology layers. This includes web application automation, API testing and validation, backend database validation, and automated report validation.

Duties of the role

• Work collaboratively with Business SMEs, Test Leads and other team members to identify test cases and business scenarios suitable for automation.

•Design and maintain scalable and reusable automation frameworks, including reusable keywords, resource files, libraries and common automation components.

• Implement effective automation diagnostics and evidence capture, including logging, screenshots, traces and execution reports, with the ability to troubleshoot automation failures.

• Focus on developing maintainable and reusable automation solutions, rather than standalone or isolated automation scripts.

• Ensure automated tests are traceable to the corresponding manual test cases and business requirements, where applicable.

• Produce and regularly distribute automation execution reports to key project stakeholders, clearly communicating execution status, failures and outcomes.

• Work collaboratively with the broader test and project teams to ensure automation supports the overall testing strategy and delivery objectives.

Skills and Experience required

• Have strong hands-on experience with data-driven testing, using data sources and formats such as Excel, CSV, and JSON.

• Experienced with Robot Framework, Playwright ,and Python.

• Proven experience automating complex web applications, including Dynamic elements and robust locator strategies, iFrames, Modals, tabs and multiple browser pages/windows, Conditional and dynamically rendered elements.

• Previously worked on complex end-to-end business workflows spanning multiple applications and systems.

• Have proven experience developing automated tests for REST APIs,

• Have experience validating application and transaction data directly against databases, with strong SQL skills, including backend data validation and reconciliation between application, API and database layers

• Be comfortable with PowerShell and command-line execution for automation orchestration and execution.
