Role Description

The Sign Estimator is a full-time, remote role responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for signage projects, including materials, labor, installation, and related costs. In this role, the individual reviews architectural drawings, specifications, site surveys, and client requirements to determine scope and pricing, while collaborating with sales, project management, and production teams to clarify details and optimize solutions. The Sign Estimator generates detailed proposals and quotations, updates and maintains estimating tools and cost databases, and tracks changes to ensure estimates stay aligned with project realities. Day-to-day activities include analyzing supplier quotes, coordinating with vendors, performing cost comparisons, and adjusting estimates based on design revisions or client feedback. The role also involves contributing to process improvements, supporting pipeline forecasting, and ensuring that all estimates follow company standards, compliance requirements, and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Strong estimating and analytical skills, including experience calculating material quantities, labor hours, and installation costs for signage or construction-related projects.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, estimating software, and project management or CRM tools to prepare, track, and update quotations and proposals.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as drawings, specifications, site surveys, and vendor quotes.
• Solid communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with sales, project managers, production teams, and external vendors in a remote environment.
• High level of attention to detail, numeric accuracy, and organizational skills to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
• Understanding of signage materials, fabrication methods, and installation processes is highly beneficial; experience in sign manufacturing, construction, or related industries is a plus.
• Comfort working in a remote-first setting, with reliable internet access, self-management, and the ability to handle overlapping time zones when needed.
• Relevant education or training in construction management, engineering, business, or a similar field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience in estimating or project coordination.
