The Role

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to keep the books of a high-growth US company accurate and close-ready every month, working remotely from Argentina.

You will handle core accounting work, from journal entries and reconciliations to AP, AR, and close support, working directly with the Senior Accountant or Controller. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in clean, well-documented work and wants to grow into owning the close.

What You'll Own

• Journal entries. Prepare recurring and adjusting entries, accruals, and prepaids with clear supporting documentation.
• Reconciliations. Reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts each month, and resolve reconciling items rather than carrying them forward.
• AP and AR. Process vendor bills and customer invoices, track aging, and keep subledgers tied to the general ledger.
• Close support. Complete assigned close checklist tasks on schedule and flag issues early.
• Reporting support. Help prepare financial statement schedules and explain movements in the accounts you own.
• Audit and documentation. Maintain organized support for audits and tax filings, and help keep SOPs up to date.

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close tasks and account reconciliations
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS (NIIF), or local accounting standards
• Strong exposure to clients or entities in the US, UK, Canada, or Australia
• Solid accrual accounting fundamentals and attention to detail
• Experience with an ERP or accounting system
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Strong written and spoken English for daily work with US teams
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Contaduría Pública), Finance, or a related field

Preferred

• Contador Público title or local equivalent
• Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, or Sage Intacct
• Experience using AI tools in accounting workflows, with the judgment to review and correct AI-generated output

Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote role with a single client company for the duration of the engagement. Full-time roles require a minimum of 4 hours of daily overlap with US Eastern Time (ET); part-time roles require a minimum of 2 hours.
