Can you turn careful planning and strong relationships into reliable, cost-effective delivery?
This is an opportunity to manage a portfolio of market-leading magazines through the supply chain, from planning and collection through to wholesale delivery. You’ll help ensure titles reach consumers at the right time, in the right place and in the right quantity, while supporting cost and service targets.
Working closely with publisher teams, suppliers, carriers and colleagues across the business, you’ll improve forward planning and help reduce reactive issues.
If you enjoy working in a fast-moving environment, building strong relationships and finding practical solutions, this is a great opportunity to develop your supply chain experience as part of a friendly and supportive team.
The role is based at our Peterborough office, with occasional travel to meet publishers and other key contacts.
We offer an informal hybrid working model, with a minimum of 8 office days every 4 weeks.
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing publisher titles from initial planning through to collection and delivery.
- Building strong working relationships with publisher teams, external suppliers and carriers.
- Developing your understanding of the operational supply chain and identifying cost-saving or value-adding opportunities.
- Providing clear updates on production delays, on-sale compliance, remedial activity and unbudgeted costs.
- Tracking title performance and improving forward planning to reduce reactive issue management.
- Working across departments and taking part in field visits to share best practice and build knowledge.
- Acting as the operational communication link between the carrier and internal teams.
- Placing manual orders for non-traditional accounts.
- Providing cover for wholesale operations, including compliance reporting, invoice queries and day-to-day wholesale queries.
What we're looking for:
- Experience of supply chain activity in magazines, FMCG or a similar environment.
- Strong commercial awareness and sound business judgement.
- Confidence in building effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
- The ability to plan, prioritise and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, negotiation and continuous improvement.
- A flexible, collaborative approach and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly basic to intermediate Excel.
Even if you don’t meet every requirement, we’d still love to hear from you. If you’re excited about the role and believe you could be a great fit, we encourage you to apply.
Please note Frontline Group is unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
