Job Description

In Schneider Electric, everything we do is geared towards advancing progress and sustainability for all—our colleagues, customers, partners, and the communities and societies we serve.

Whether it's through our products, software, and services that propel the digital transformation of energy management and automation, or through our corporate citizenship and volunteer activities, we make a meaningful impact by empowering people and organizations to become more resilient, electric, and digital.

Which is where you come in. Working at Schneider Electric means working toward a cleaner, better world. You're part of a global team built on inclusion, mastery, purpose, action, curiosity, and teamwork, turning sustainability ambitions into actions.

The Role: Team Lead, SEA region

ETAP (part of Schneider Electric) is the world’s leading developer of electrical software for power systems design, analysis, and real-time software solutions for infrastructure, building and industry.

ETAP is a merger of 3 companies: ETAP, IGE+XAO and ALPI. IGE+XAO is a renowned electrical engineering software provider, ALPI is a European leader in automated calculation, sizing and design software for electrical installations, and ETAP is a global leader in energy management and engineering solutions. The combination of ALPI and IGE+XAO with ETAP marks a significant collaboration between the three companies, establishing ETAP as the world’s leading electrical design and operations digital twin for infrastructure, building, industry, and utilities.

The Team Lead will be responsible for the engineering, design, development, integration, testing, commissioning and lifecycle support of Industrial Automation and Digital Energy solutions across the Southeast Asia (SEA) region. The role involves delivering complete engineering solutions covering SCADA, EMS, ADMS, DERMS, Power Management Systems (PMS), Digital Twin technologies, Renewable Energy Control Systems, Power Plant Controllers (PPC), Microgrid Controllers (MGC), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Industrial IoT (IIoT) and Operational Technology (OT) platforms.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers, EPC contractors, consultants, Schneider Electric Global Engineering Centres, Product Development teams, India Engineering Centre and Regional Business teams to successfully deliver projects throughout the complete project lifecycle—from engineering and system integration through commissioning, customer acceptance and long-term lifecycle support.

As part of the Regional Engineering organisation, the Team lead will actively collaborate with the India Engineering Centre for engineering support, project execution, technical governance, product knowledge transfer, internal technical training, engineering standardisation, project reporting and continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves working closely with Product Management and Product Development teams by sharing customer feedback, field observations and product enhancement recommendations to support the continuous evolution of ETAP Digital Energy solutions.

  • Design, engineer and commission Industrial Automation and Digital Energy solutions.
  • Develop SCADA, EMS, ADMS, DERMS, PMS, Power Plant Controller (PPC) and Microgrid Controller (MGC) applications.
  • Configure PLCs, RTUs, FRTUs, IEDs, protection relays and third-party communication devices.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning and customer acceptance testing.
  • Troubleshoot communication, networking and system integration issues.
  • Prepare engineering documentation including Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Control Philosophy, Architecture Drawings and User Manuals.
  • Conduct customer training, technical workshops and post-commissioning support.
  • Support OT Cybersecurity implementation, software upgrades and lifecycle management.

  • Coordinate engineering activities with Project Managers, EPC contractors, consultants, customers, vendors and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conduct customer technical workshops, engineering design reviews, technical presentations and solution demonstrations throughout project execution.
  • Support pre-sales activities including solution reviews, technical proposals, engineering estimation and architecture validation when required.
  • Prepare engineering progress reports, commissioning reports, technical documentation, project status updates, risk assessments and lessons learned for regional management.
