Technical Services Manager

Role Description The Release Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing software and project releases within IEEE BU SB initiatives. This role involves managing release schedules, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring that deliverables meet quality standards and timelines. Day-to-day tasks include tracking release progress, handling configuration and version management, identifying risks and dependencies, and facilitating communication between development, testing, and program management teams. The Release Manager will maintain documentation for releases, support continuous improvement of release processes, and help enforce best practices that enhance reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Release Management and Configuration Management skills for planning and controlling software and project versions.
• Candidates should possess solid Program Management and Analytical Skills for coordinating activities, tracking performance, and making data-informed decisions.
• Candidates should possess foundational Software Development skills to understand technical workflows and collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
• Candidates should have effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills for working with diverse stakeholders in a remote environment.
• Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to process improvement and quality assurance.
• Experience with common development and release tools (e.g., version control systems, issue trackers, CI/CD platforms) is beneficial.
• Background in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in software or project delivery, is preferred.
