-------------【 Job Description】-------------

The company is looking for a bridge engineer to connect the development teams in Vietnam and Japan.

You will be engaged in web application development work at our Shibuya, Tokyo office.

You will be responsible for the following tasks

【Project Development】

The development team consists of a hybrid team in Japan and Vietnam, and you will work as a bridge engineer on the Japanese side standing in between the two teams. You will be in charge of your own development, while communicating system specifications to the Vietnamese team, reviewing code, and leading acceptance testing.

(Main language in the team is Japanese)

In addition to bridge work, you will also have the opportunity to be responsible for all aspects of the web application development process. Specifically, you will be expected to play an active role in defining requirements, formulating system specifications, selecting frameworks and libraries, setting up infrastructure, and all other parts that lead to the success of the service.

You will be assigned to one of the following the company groups for the project.

Large-scale system development

The service that handles the largest number of users and traffic volume in the company's group requires scalability and low latency.

Group-wide Login ID Platform API

This project is to develop a platform infrastructure that links multiple services of the company's group, including API program development and stabilization of container technology and cloud infrastructure, such as Kubernetes.

Service Development in Startup Businesses

You will be responsible for speedy development to support the growth of new businesses that are launched every year by the company's group. The scope of responsibilities will include participation from requirement definition and schedule formulation, and overall development including front-end, API, management screen, smartphone apps, and infrastructure setup such as AWS and GCP.

Freelancer Invoice Buying Service

This is a fintech service that guarantees financial transactions for freelancers when they do business with companies. The service has a high repeat rate, and you will be asked to respond to the development of new features to make the service available to more of them.

Content sales and transaction services using NFT

You will develop digital content sales and transaction services using blockchain NFT. You will be required to catch up with the daily evolution of the technological domain and have the knowledge to identify the most appropriate methods.

Data Analysis and Machine Learning Projects

There is a project in which you will be responsible for data analysis and AI development together with the data scientist on the Vietnamese side. The person in charge of this project is required to have sufficient work experience as a data scientist.

In addition to the above, new projects are launched on an irregular basis and assignments are considered according to aptitude, so there are many opportunities available. Since the business areas are diverse and the technologies and processes used are also varied, you will be able to experience many projects and developments depending on your own motivation.

【Operational support for the Vietnamese team】

Currently there are several Vietnamese engineers on the Japanese side, and they will work together to support the project work and the management of the team on the Vietnamese side. The project will include technical guidance, quarterly evaluations, Japanese communication support, etc. There is a possibility that you may accompany us on business trips to Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang) several times a year. (Currently on hold due to Corona)

【Research and Development】

The company is improving practical technical skills by allocating 10% + α of its work to research and verification of new technologies. Their research focuses on AI, Blockchain, AWS/GCP, and other new technology areas that are expected to be applied to business in the future, as well as trending technologies that should be kept in mind for the Internet service business.

・Each quarter, they will publish the results of our research and exploration on our engineer blog in the technical areas they focus on and technologies related to the business use of the company.

・Members appointed on a quarterly basis conduct focused research and development and present their findings at a presentation at the end of the term.

【Required】

Must be able to work in Vietnamese and Japanese (Japanese Language Proficiency Test N2~ required)

Experience in web application development

Proactive attitude to catch up with the latest technologies and keep outputting them

Basic knowledge of web application vulnerabilities

【Preferred】

・Experience as a bridge engineer

・Experience leading projects (equivalent to a Tech Lead or Project Manager position)

・Experience in verifying and evaluating new technologies and introducing them into services

・Experience in proposing and proactively implementing improvements to development processes

・Experience in selecting OSS and designing/building architectures that meet the requirements

・Experience in developing web and native applications for smartphones
