Help shape what’s next at schuh
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Transformation Project Manager to turn our strategic priorities into clear plans, coordinated action and measurable results.
Working closely with our CFO and leaders across the business, you’ll help deliver the next phase of schuh’s transformation. You’ll bring structure, challenge and momentum to our operating plan, making sure priorities have clear owners, realistic milestones and visible progress.
If you enjoy bringing people together, solving problems and making things happen in a fast-paced retail environment, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
Turn strategy into action
- Bring our strategic priorities together into one integrated delivery plan.
- Define workstreams, owners, milestones, dependencies and deadlines.
- Establish clear priorities for the first 30, 60 and 90 days, alongside quarterly deliverables.
Keep delivery moving
- Work across Product, Finance, Retail, Digital, Marketing, Logistics, IT and People to coordinate delivery.
- Lead focused fortnightly delivery sessions to resolve issues, support decisions and maintain momentum.
- Identify competing priorities and help teams work through obstacles.
Support our key transformation priorities
- Strengthening our product offer and growing full-price sales.
- Growing our customer base.
- Improving productivity across stores and ecommerce.
- Improving the flow of goods through our supply chain.
- Building people capability and performance.
- Improving financial performance and cost efficiency.
Make progress clear
- Maintain a shared view of actions, milestones, measures and expected financial benefits.
- Work with Finance to track delivery against planned commercial outcomes.
- Highlight risks, dependencies and opportunities to accelerate progress.
- Provide concise weekly updates and support monthly Leadership Team reviews.
Build accountability
- Follow up on commitments and escalate unresolved decisions promptly.
- Keep clear action and decision records.
- Support and challenge functional leaders, who retain accountability for delivery within their areas.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience delivering projects or transformation programmes, ideally in retail or consumer goods.
- A structured, analytical approach and strong commercial awareness.
- Confidence working with senior leaders, asking challenging questions and influencing across teams.
- The ability to prioritise, manage dependencies and turn complex plans into practical action.
- A collaborative, hands-on style, with the pace and judgement to keep delivery moving.
- A practical approach to governance that creates clarity without unnecessary bureaucracy.
The difference you’ll make
Over the six-month contract, you’ll establish a clear delivery roadmap, strengthen coordination across teams and demonstrate measurable progress against our operating and financial priorities.
