This is an exclusive full-time position. It is not suitable for you if you are an agency, freelancer, or currently servicing multiple employers or clients.

Full-time | Remote | 7+ years experience | Opportunity to relocate

Please make sure you apply using the application link at the end. Only applications submitted through the link will be reviewed.

Dear Potential Video Editor,

I’m not looking for someone who can edit videos. There are plenty of those.

I’m looking for someone exceptional.

If you are not the person people are always eager to work with because they know you will make the content better, please stop reading.

If you are not one of the strongest editors in your current team, agency or environment, this isn't the role for you.

And if you need someone to sit over your shoulder and tell you what to cut, what to keep, where to put the hook, which clips to use and what you should create from the footage, please don't apply.

I am not looking for someone who simply takes footage, follows instructions, adds some transitions, puts on captions and exports a video. I want an editor who thinks.

Someone who can watch a 10-minute recording and immediately see five different pieces of content hiding inside it.

You need to understand that editing for social media is not simply about making a video look good.

It is about attention, storytelling, pacing, retention and communication.

And ultimately, it is about helping the content achieve something.

Build authority. Educate. Create curiosity. Start conversations. Grow an audience. Build trust. Generate demand.

And if you're reading this thinking, "This isn't me, but I know exactly who this is," please do me a favour.

Send this to the best video editor you've ever worked with.

The one who can take imperfect footage, find the gold in it and turn it into something people actually want to watch.

That's who I am trying to find.

I want someone who can take raw footage and see the story inside it. You understand that the first few seconds matter. You know how to find the hook. You know when a video needs to move faster, when it needs to slow down and when a section simply needs to be cut.

You understand pacing, retention, storytelling, captions, B-roll, sound, visual changes and the small decisions that can make the difference between someone scrolling past and someone watching until the end.

But technical editing ability is only the starting point. You think beyond the edit.

Give you a 10-minute founder video and you don't automatically think, “That's one video.”

You think: What else is in here?

Could this become three Reels? Could this answer become a standalone educational video? Is there a controversial point worth building around? Could we create different versions for different platforms?

You understand how to extract, repurpose and multiply content. One recording should not always equal one piece of content.

I need someone who understands social media. You know that editing a video for social media is different from simply producing a polished corporate video. You understand that the goal isn't to show everyone how clever you are with editing software. The goal is to make the content work.

You need to have editorial judgement. You can make decisions. You know what is important and what isn't. You know when a speaker is taking too long to make a point. You know when a sentence should be removed. You know when a story needs more context. You know when the footage doesn't support the message and something needs to change. You don't just execute the footage. You shape it.

You are fast without being careless. You know how to work efficiently. You don't spend six hours adding effects to a 45-second video. You know where to spend your time and where not to. You can produce high-quality work at the pace required by a growing organisation.

And when you join us, I don't want you to think of yourself as someone who simply receives footage from the content team.

I want you to think of yourself as part of the team responsible for turning our ideas, conversations and experiences into content people actually want to watch.

If you're still reading, let me introduce you to what you'll actually be joining.

I'm Olatomide Fadipe, the founder of Secure Wealth Group.

We're building a group of businesses and brands around UK property, investment, education and wealth creation.

Secure Wealth Property Group helps clients invest in UK property through a Done For You approach, including hands-off property investment and related property services.

Secure Wealth Academy takes a Done With You approach, helping aspiring and existing property investors develop their knowledge, strategy and practical ability through education, mentorship and implementation.

Then there's the wider Secure Wealth ecosystem, including my personal brand, where property education, thought leadership, investor content, speaking and media all come together.

And this is where you come in.

We have a lot to say.

We have a founder who is willing to get in front of the camera.

We have properties, projects, client stories, educational content, conversations, interviews, opinions, lessons and experiences that can become content.

We have a growing marketing team around you.

And we want to build a serious content engine around all of it.

You won't simply be handed a folder of footage every Monday and told to edit whatever is inside it.

You'll be part of the process of figuring out what we should create, how we should tell the story and what we can get from every piece of content we produce.

You will work closely with the Social Media Manager, Marketing Manager, copywriters and other members of the content and marketing team.

You'll have people around you, but I am not looking for someone who needs everything handed to them. I want you to bring your ideas to the table.

We're still building, which means you won't be walking into a finished production machine where every process, format and creative decision has already been made. You will have the opportunity to help shape it.

You can help us understand what makes our content perform better. And as the organisation grows, so does the opportunity.

I’m not looking at you as someone who will simply remain a Video Editor.

I’m looking at what you could become as the organisation grows.

You could help shape our entire video and content production function, take on greater creative responsibility and eventually lead the creative team as we scale.

If you want to visualise it, this is what that could look like:

Video Editor → Senior Video Editor → Creative Lead / Content Production Lead → Head of Creative

The exact path will depend on your performance, the needs of the organisation and how much responsibility you are ready to take on.

But the opportunity is there.

We will also invest in the right person through access to the tools, resources, training and professional development needed to keep getting better.

This is a full-time role.

While I believe in giving people the flexibility to do their best work, flexibility should not be confused with this being a side gig.

I am looking for someone who can give this role their full professional attention, take ownership of the work and be available and actively involved throughout the working day.

You will have the freedom to work remotely and manage your time responsibly, but we expect you to be present, responsive and engaged when the team needs you.

This isn't something you fit around three other clients, another full-time job or a list of freelance projects.

If you're looking for a few hours of video editing work on the side, this isn't the opportunity for you.

I’m not particularly interested in credentials. What I want to see is evidence.

Don't just tell me you're a great video editor.

Show me.

Show me the videos you're most proud of.

If you've taken one piece of footage and turned it into multiple pieces of content, show me.

If you've helped a video perform significantly better, tell me what you changed.

And don't just send me a folder containing 50 videos with no context.

I want to understand what you did, why you did it and what you contributed.

Your CV matters, but it won't convince me on its own.

The work will.

This could be your dream job if you're the right person. You’ll work in a supportive environment, have opportunities to take on more responsibility and a chance to shape what we’re building. As the business grows, there may be opportunities to relocate to the UK, depending on business needs, performance and the relevant requirements. If you’re looking for more than just another job, this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

I may also ask shortlisted candidates to complete a short practical task so I can see how you approach real footage and real content challenges.

Don't just send me your CV or another generic cover letter telling me what a great video editor you are.

I would much rather you write me a personal letter and take the time to complete the application questions properly.

Use them to show me what you've created, what you've achieved, what you've learned, how you think and why you believe you're the person to help us build this.

Click here to submit your application.

If you're as good as I'm hoping you are, I'll make the recruitment process worth your time.

I look forward to seeing what you've created.

Best Wishes,

Olatomide

P.S. I'm serious about this, and it's a deal breaker for me: this must be an exclusive full-time position. It is not suitable for an agency, someone simultaneously servicing multiple employers or clients, or a freelancer.

P.S.S. References and recommendations from your current or previous employer and colleagues will also be required as part of this recruitment process.
