About The Opportunity
The Impact and Learning Assistant supports OEF's monitoring, evaluation and learning work. The role helps organise programme evidence, track meaningful indicators and turn delivery records and feedback into clear insights for reporting and future improvement.
Who we are looking for
A careful, curious and self-directed person who enjoys organising information, testing assumptions and drawing useful insights from programme data. Students or early-career applicants in social science, public health, statistics, development studies or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Nice to have: Familiarity with Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel, KoboToolbox or other data-collection platforms, Looker Studio, Power BI or other visualisation tools, and AI-enabled data-analysis tools. Strong analytical judgement and the ability to learn unfamiliar platforms quickly are valued.
Core responsibilities
- Help define practical indicators, data requirements and collection checklists.
- Organise and review programme records, feedback and supporting evidence.
- Clean, structure and summarise programme data for analysis.
- Develop evidence tables and contribute to impact and learning reports.
- Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, lessons and opportunities for programme improvement.
Expectations
- A commitment of 10 hours per week for at least three months, arranged flexibly around agreed priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with structured information.
- Accuracy when organising data, defining indicators and reporting findings.
- Ability to distinguish verified results from assumptions, plans and future goals.
- Clear documentation of methods, definitions, limitations and outstanding evidence needs.
- Intellectual curiosity and initiative to question weak data, propose useful indicators and improve evidence systems independently.
