Build resilient technology. Lead exceptional teams. Enable the future of MPS.

At MPS, technology is fundamental to how we serve our customers, support our people and deliver complex media operations. We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Vice President of Information Technology to lead our enterprise and production technology services through their next stage of development.

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across Information Technology, Production Technology, Networks and Service Delivery. You will be accountable for ensuring that our technology services are secure, resilient, scalable and aligned with the needs of our business, customers and future growth.

This is a senior leadership role for someone who can set direction while remaining close enough to operations to understand where improvements are needed. You will balance business continuity, cybersecurity, service quality, innovation and cost, while building confident teams and strong relationships across MPS.

What you will be responsible for

You will:

  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary technology team of approximately 10 people, spanning Systems Administration, IT Support, Production Technology and Network Architecture, including leadership of the Head of Production Technology and Network Architect.

  • Develop and own the IT and Production Technology roadmap, translating business priorities into clear and deliverable plans.

  • Take accountability for the performance, availability, resilience and continuous improvement of MPS’s technology services.

  • Oversee enterprise infrastructure across compute, storage, virtualisation, cloud, applications and networks.

  • Lead technology supporting specialist production environments and high-performance media workflows.

  • Establish clear service standards and drive continuous improvement across IT support and the wider employee technology experience.

  • Ensure effective cybersecurity controls, disaster recovery, business continuity and incident-management arrangements are maintained and tested.

  • Own technology budgets, suppliers, contracts and investment decisions, balancing performance, resilience, risk and commercial value.

  • Evaluate new technology platforms and suppliers, including proof-of-concept and technical assessment activity.

  • Build capability and succession across the team, creating clear accountability, developing technical expertise and determining the right balance between internal capability and external partners.

  • Act as a trusted senior technology partner to the Executive Leadership Team and wider business, communicating technology priorities, risks and significant incidents clearly.

  • Build effective relationships with key customers, suppliers and technology partners.

  • Participate in senior incident escalation and appropriate management on-call arrangements.

What you will bring

We are looking for an established technology leader who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial judgment and credible people leadership.

You will have:

  • Significant experience leading technology infrastructure and operational services at scale.

  • At least five years’ experience managing a department, or eight years leading technology teams.

  • Experience managing service delivery or helpdesk operations.

  • Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, including compute, storage, virtualisation, cloud and networking.

  • Practical experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware, Nutanix or equivalent.

  • Experience operating within ITIL or a comparable service-management framework.

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows environments, including Active Directory, Entra ID, Windows Server, MFA, LDAP, WSUS and Intune.

  • A good understanding of cybersecurity principles and the practical operation of technology security controls.

  • Demonstrable experience evaluating technology platforms and making evidence-based investment decisions.

  • Strong commercial capability across budgeting, procurement, supplier relationships and contract management.

  • The ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly to senior leaders, customers and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience in a production, theatrical, VFX, mastering or high-performance media environment would be particularly valuable. Knowledge of complex networking, AWS, EKS, Terraform, heterogeneous environments, and monitoring platforms such as Zabbix, Prometheus or Grafana would also be advantageous.

How you will lead

At MPS, leadership is not defined by title alone. We are looking for someone who will:

  • lead with integrity, authenticity and sound judgment;

  • turn business priorities into clear technology direction;

  • communicate openly and build trust across technical and non-technical teams;

  • make timely, commercially sound decisions;

  • create clear ownership and accountability;

  • remain calm and pragmatic during significant incidents and periods of change;

  • develop people and encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement; and

  • represent MPS credibly with customers, partners and suppliers
