We are looking for a Communications Manager with strong visual communications skills and a hands-on approach to digital content. At Nefco, you will help shape how we communicate through compelling design, an engaging website and videos and other products that make information clear and accessible.

This role combines creative production with planning and coordination. You will work on external and internal communications, create content yourself and collaborate with colleagues, external agencies and other partners.

What you will do

  • Create clear, engaging visual communications. Manage our visual brand guidelines and apply them across various communications materials.
  • Lead website development and day-to-day maintenance from a communications perspective. Develop and maintain content, coordinate improvements and work with our technical web service provider on implementation.
  • Produce and edit videos. Create short videos in-house for our website, intranet and social media channels, and coordinate larger productions with external video partners.
  • Plan and deliver communications activities for selected financing programmes
  • Produce editorial content, independently and with external partners.
  • Produce social media content and use analytics to improve.
  • Maintain and develop our digital asset libraries.
  • Advise and support colleagues, particularly on visual and digital communications, and coordinate work with agencies and other service providers.

What you bring

  • Strong visual communications skills, with the ability to turn information and ideas into clear, appealing graphics, images, layouts and videos while working consistently with a visual brand.
  • Hands-on experience of website content management and of coordinating website development and maintenance with technical partners.
  • Practical video production and editing skills.
  • At least 5–7 years of relevant experience in visual and digital communications or marketing communications, including content production and website content management.
  • Confidence using creative design software such as Adobe InDesign or Canva, content management systems such as WordPress, and photo and video editing tools. Familiarity with digital communications and analytics tools is also valuable.
  • A bachelor’s degree in digital or visual communications, economics and business administration, social sciences or another relevant field.
  • Fluency in English and at least one Nordic language, with good writing skills, particularly in English. Other languages are an advantage.
  • Strong organising and project management skills, a creative mindset and a proactive, collaborative approach.
  • Integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information, and a willingness to learn and develop.

The role may involve participation in meetings, networks and events, with travel when required.

About Nefco

Nefco (Nordic Environment Finance Corporation), founded in 1990 by the five Nordic countries, is an international financial institution focused solely on green financing. Owned by Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, we work through concrete actions to accelerate the green transition. Our purpose is to promote investments of Nordic environmental interest, with a focus on Eastern Europe. We accelerate the green transition by turning ambition into action.

We focus on areas where funding is not yet available in sufficient amounts. By stepping in early and sharing our expertise, we help Nordic green solutions scale up faster and mobilise investments from public and private actors. Together with clients and partners, we deliver concrete, lasting impact.

Today, Nefco has over 65 employees. Our headquarters is in Helsinki, Finland, in a collaborative hub co-located with the Nordic Investment Bank and the Nordic Development Fund. We also maintain a representative office in Kyiv, Ukraine, allowing us to work closely with our partners across the region. Learn more at www.nefco.int

What we offer

  • Meaningful impact: An opportunity to contribute to the Nordic countries’ green initiatives – you will be part of financing projects that address climate change and accelerate the green transition in the Nordics, Eastern Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • International work environment: A multicultural, multilingual workplace within an international organisation. We offer a hybrid work model and a modern office located in the heart of Helsinki. While we support hybrid working, this role requires regular on-site presence in Helsinki several days per week. Candidates not currently based in the Helsinki region should be willing to relocate.
  • Supportive culture: A supportive and collaborative work culture that values professional excellence and teamwork.
  • Flexible working: A hybrid working model that supports work-life balance, combined with a modern office in central Helsinki.
  • Relocation support: Relocation and accommodation assistance for employees moving to Helsinki from abroad to join our team.
