Hotel La Palma - Capri’s first hotel, built in 1822, currently being transformed into an elegant and exclusive 50-room-and-suite hotel. Mission: The Director of Rooms is responsible for leading and overseeing all Rooms Division operations at Hotel La Palma, ensuring the highest standards of luxury hospitality, guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial performance. This position provides strategic and operational leadership across Front Office, Concierge, Guest Relations, Housekeeping, Night Operations, and Spa while fostering a culture of excellence, service personalization, and continuous improvement.
The Director of Rooms reports directly to the Managing Director and works closely with all department heads to ensure a seamless and exceptional guest experience.
Profile: The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership in Rooms Division operations, with proven expertise in managing and coordinating all guest-facing departments, including Front Office, Guest Relations, Concierge, Housekeeping, Reservations, Bell Services, Night Operations, In Room Dining and Spa.
The candidate possess the ability to drive operational excellence while consistently delivering the highest standards of luxury hospitality and personalized guest service. Skilled in developing and implementing strategies aligned with business objectives, they excel at enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing service delivery, and ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction throughout every stage of the guest journey. The experience includes overseeing VIP experiences, building strong relationships with repeat guests and key stakeholders, and effectively managing service recovery to resolve guest concerns with professionalism and care.
They are also financially astute, with expertise in budget management, cost control, labor productivity, revenue optimization, and performance analysis, contributing to the achievement of occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and profitability targets. A passionate people leader, they are committed to recruiting, developing, coaching, and inspiring high-performing teams, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment while promoting employee engagement and career growth.
Additionally, they possess a thorough understanding of luxury brand standards, quality assurance processes, and Forbes Travel Guide requirements, with a strong focus on continuous improvement, guest satisfaction, and reputation management.
Skills & Competencies: The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional leadership and coaching abilities, combined with strong guest relations and problem-solving skills. He/She possesses outstanding communication and interpersonal capabilities, along with solid financial and commercial awareness. Highly organized and detail-oriented, he/she is able to effectively manage multiple priorities, perform under pressure in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment, and consistently deliver service excellence. He/She is proficient in PMS and hotel management systems and has excellent time-management skills, with a strong commitment to operational efficiency and guest satisfaction. Fluency in English is essential, while proficiency in additional languages is considered a valuable asset.
