THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE
Economic Crime Risk is looking for a Policy & Complex Advisory Manager on a 9-month FTC based out of Milton Keynes or Glasgow.
The role holder will be a key second line contact, supporting the maintenance and delivery of the Bank’s Economic Crime framework, policies, standards, risk appetite, MI requirements and governance arrangements. The role works in partnership with the wider 2LoD Economic Crime Risk function, the MLRO team, first line business areas and control functions to support adherence to relevant policies, standards and frameworks.
The role will support the Economic Crime Risk team by contributing to practical framework deliverables, ensuring requirements remain aligned to legal and regulatory obligations, industry best practice, emerging threats and Santander UK’s risk appetite. This includes supporting the maintenance of economic crime policy architecture, framework documents, governance materials, reporting standards and supporting guidance.

- Economic Crime Risk Management and Oversight: Is responsible for supporting the execution of the Function’s Strategy and priorities. This will require working collaboratively across teams and disciplines, as required.
- Framework and Policy Portfolio: contributes to the maintenance and simplification of the Economic Crime framework, policies, standards and supporting materials, helping to ensure clear minimum requirements are articulated for business areas.
- Risk Appetite and MI: supports Economic Crime Risk Appetite activity, including stakeholder input, evidence gathering, MI requirement tracking and reporting against agreed appetite measures.
- Governance and Reporting: supports the operation of the economic crime governance framework, including committee preparation, action tracking, escalation routes, senior stakeholder reporting, regulatory reporting inputs and Group reporting requirements where required.
- Horizon Scanning and Change: keeps up to date with legal, regulatory and industry developments, supporting impact assessment, communication and implementation planning for policy or framework changes.
- Stakeholder Partnership: provides timely and accurate advice to stakeholders, helping to interpret framework requirements in a way that is clear, proportionate and capable of being embedded across the organisation.

Professional Experience:
- Deep and/or broad understanding of the financial services industry, the political and economic environment and Santander strategy and initiatives. (Required)
- Sound knowledge and understanding of UK financial services regulation, economic crime regulation, industry trends and best practice. (Required)
- Proven experience in policy, framework, governance, risk appetite, reporting or advisory activity within a compliance, financial crime or risk management environment. (Required)
- Ability to interpret and articulate regulatory, policy and framework requirements in a business context, delivering complex information in a simple and practical way. (Required)
- Good attention to detail, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with experience of contributing to policy, standard or procedure documents. (Required)
- Good analytical, interpretation, influencing and communication skills; with an ability to communicate and network effectively with management and stakeholders. (Required)
- Organisation skills and the ability to support risk management strategies, processes and prioritised activities. (Required)
Education:
- Relevant academic/regulatory qualification (Preferred)
- University degree or equivalent or suitable practical work experience (Required)
- Great experience in Line 2 Economic Crime Risk Function (Required)
Languages:
- English (Required)

Salary Range:
£54,318.00 - £81,478.00 per annum (depending on experience)
This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
