Electrical Engineer
Phoenix Area | On-Site | $130,000 to $180,000 Base
Arena Staffing has partnered with a growing semiconductor and advanced technology organization in the Phoenix area that is hiring an Electrical Engineer to support complex electrical design work tied to large-scale semiconductor and industrial facilities.
This role is designed for an experienced electrical engineer who can take responsible charge of technical work, stamp engineering documents in Arizona, and lead electrical design from early planning through construction support.
Why you will want this role. Here is what's in it for you.
- Direct semiconductor project exposure: The role supports work associated with the TSMC semiconductor development in North Phoenix, giving the engineer direct experience in one of the most significant advanced manufacturing environments currently being built in the U.S.
- Long-term project outlook: The organization anticipates semiconductor construction activity in the Phoenix market continuing for more than ten years.
- Technical ownership: This is not a production-only engineering position. The engineer will lead electrical design decisions, review calculations, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and stamp engineering documents.
- Relocation support may be available: Candidates outside Arizona may be considered, with potential temporary apartment accommodations and approximately one month of housing support.
- Sponsorship may be considered: The company can support certain employment sponsorship situations, including some H-1B transfers. Each case is reviewed individually.
Role Snapshot
The Electrical Engineer will lead electrical engineering design for commercial, industrial, semiconductor, and advanced technology facilities.
The position will own electrical design activities from conceptual planning through construction administration, including power distribution, engineering calculations, technical documentation, multidisciplinary coordination, field support, and code compliance.
Because this position includes responsible-charge authority, the selected engineer must hold an active Arizona Professional Engineer license and be able to prepare, review, and seal engineering documents.
What You Will Own
- Lead electrical design from early planning through design development and construction administration.
- Develop load calculations, demand analyses, and electrical distribution strategies for commercial and industrial facilities.
- Design and review low- and medium-voltage systems, including transformers, switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, motor control centers, and related equipment.
- Perform system coordination and engineering studies supporting equipment protection, system reliability, and arc-flash risk mitigation.
- Develop and review single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, equipment schedules, specifications, calculations, and technical narratives.
- Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, structural, controls, fire protection, and other project disciplines.
- Support RFIs, submittals, field observations, site walks, commissioning activities, punch-list resolution, and as-built turnover.
- Provide technical guidance and design review support to junior and mid-level engineers.
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Active Arizona Professional Engineer license with responsible-charge and stamping authority.
- Electrical design experience within commercial, institutional, industrial, or comparable building environments.
- Experience designing commercial or industrial electrical power distribution systems.
- Working knowledge of low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, equipment protection, coordination, and applicable electrical design principles.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit for electrical design, documentation, and BIM coordination.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
- Semiconductor facility or cleanroom experience.
- Advanced manufacturing, mission-critical, or other high-tech industrial project experience.
- Experience supporting projects through both design and construction.
- Knowledge of NEC, IBC, IFC, and related building and electrical codes.
- Experience mentoring engineers or leading a small technical team.
Interview Process
Interview details will be shared with qualified candidates during the recruiting process.
