Territory Generation is the largest producer of electricity in the Northern Territory with assets from Alice Springs to Darwin. We use gas, diesel and solar technologies to provide power across the Territory.

Your New Role

You will provide professional economic and financial analysis, insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making and improve business performance.

Your responsibilities include:

• Perform demand forecasting, market analysis, revenue modelling, and financial planning activities to support budgets, forecasts and monthly, quarterly and annual reporting..
• Prepare the monthly revenue calculations, reconciliations, billing processes, accruals and associated financial reporting.
• Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly customer invoicing and related revenue processes.
• Prepare the monthly revenue and energy performance analysis, including price and volume variances analysis, and provide reporting to the Board and management.
• Provide financial and economic analysis and advice regarding input costs, sales pricing, demand, and general economic conditions and develop recommended strategic responses.
• Undertake financial modelling, research, and analysis to assess commercial viability of major capital projects, new business development opportunities, and proposals involving private sector participation in provision of the Corporation’s services.
• Analyse financial, commercial, and operational risks associated with major capital projects and business development initiatives and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
• Support the Corporation’s achievement of commercial objectives and financial performance targets in accordance with the Government Owned Corporations legislation and the Statement of Corporate Intent.
• Carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values and strategies.

Your skills & experience:

• Demonstrated ability in financial and commercial analysis, with sound knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) techniques including investment appraisal, trend analysis, forecasting, financial modelling, budgeting, and management accounting.
• Good knowledge of utility pricing principles, tariff structures and charging methodologies, together with an understanding of the key factors influencing revenue, demand and business performance.
• Sound knowledge and practical skill in policy development, performance measurement, reporting frameworks, and continuous improvement principals.
• Well-developed information technology skills, including advanced use of word processing applications, spreadsheet and financial analysis tools and relevant enterprise, project management and financial systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial and operational insights, analyses and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders across the Corporation.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team, manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and contribute to a positive and outcomes-focused work environment.
• Ability to carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policies and to uphold the Corporation’s values, strategies and governance requirements.

Desirable skills & experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Economics, Finance, Accounting or similar highly regarded.
• Professional certifications (e.g. CPA, CA) or progress toward these are highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems, with experience in Pronto highly regarded

This is an ongoing role and requires Australian Citizenship or other eligible visa type and the preferred candidate is required to undertake a pre-employment medical and employment is conditional on the outcome.
