HR Officer

About the Role

JBS Riverina is currently seeking a proactive self-starter to join the People & Culture team as our team as a trusted HR Officer. Reporting to the Plant HR Manager, you will partner closely with operational leaders to support the day-to-day people requirements of a busy processing facility. Your responsibilities will span workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, attendance management, RTW coordination as well as HR compliance, ensuring the site is effectively resourced and supported to achieve its operational objectives.

Working closely with managers and employees, you will provide practical HR advice and guidance on a broad range of people matters while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation. You will also assist with investigations, maintain accurate employee records, contribute to HR reporting and coordinate a range of administrative processes that support the employee lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building strong relationships across all levels of the business, and be passionate about supporting both people and operational outcomes.

About You

• Strong administration, organisation and processing skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed investigation, problem-solving and report-writing abilities
• Exceptional time management skills with strong attention to detail
• The ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines
• A proactive approach, taking ownership of tasks and seeing projects through to completion
• Previous experience in a Human Resources or related administrative role
• Experience within a manufacturing environment highly regarded, but not essential

JBS Australia is the largest and most respected meat and food producer in Australia. Situated on 2,000ha, the JBS Riverina Plant is a part of the Riverina integrated farming, feedlot and processing operation. The cattle are walked from the feedlot to the plant, minimising stress and transportation costs, while simultaneously improving eating quality – one of only two in the southern hemisphere. Based just outside Yanco, between the popular townships of Leeton and Narrandera in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation district (or Riverina region), our location ensures the ability to source high quality feeder cattle and grain to produce premium beef. The plant employs approximately 500 team members with a processing capacity of 600 head of cattle per day.
