THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE
Financial Crime, Customer Outcomes & NFR Governance (FCCOG) is looking for an Issues Management & Material Controls Manager. Based out of Milton Keynes, Belfast or Bradford
The Issues Management & Material Controls Manager will be part of a team which maintains a single and central framework for the management of issues, while providing 1LOD governance for the material-controls framework. The role will ensure issues and audit actions are adequately managed through to complete and timely remediation, strengthen the controls culture, and coordinate end-to-end material-controls governance, reporting and disclosure activity.

- Maintain a single and central framework for issues Management, ensuring action plans are adequate and remediation is monitored through to complete and timely closure, with a focus on reducing past-due actions and risk.
- Manage Internal Audit and External Audit engagement and requests, ensuring all requests are logged, tracked and actioned completely, accurately and on time; review and challenge new audit issues and provide an escalation point for delivery matters.
- Support business areas in their engagement with Internal Audit and External Audit, working closely with Controls Partners and wider stakeholders to resolve dependencies and achieve timely governance outcomes.
- Produce and coordinate complete, accurate and timely reporting and MI on issues management, audit engagement and material-controls governance, including effective reporting and escalation of status, remediation and inventory completion.
- Coordinate the end-to-end 1LOD material-controls governance cycle, from confirming scope and definitions and driving inventory completion through quality assurance, process tooling workflow, governance feedback, reporting, disclosure-readiness activity and post-implementation review.
- Complete in-depth thematic analysis of issues and recommend and deliver improvements, collaborating with Compliance, Risk, Internal Audit, External Audit and other stakeholders while supporting the Senior Manager (S4) and attending relevant forums.

Professional Experience
- Proven experience in risk, control and controls assurance, including identifying, assessing, managing and reporting risks. (Required)
- Expert knowledge and practical experience of Controls and Controls Frameworks, including governance, assurance and Control Indicators. (Required)
- Experience of Internal Audit / External Audit engagement, issues management, remediation tracking and governance reporting. (Preferred)
Education
- Educated to Degree level or relevant professional qualification. (Preferred)
- Professional qualification or substantial experience in a risk, controls, audit or related discipline. (Preferred)
Languages
- English (Required)
Hard Skills
- Great knowledge of risk & controls frameworks and governance principles, with the ability to assess control scope, quality, completeness and adherence to standards. (Required)
- Excellent risk and controls assurance capability, including the ability to identify, assess, challenge and communicate control weaknesses, issues and governance risks. (Required)
- Great analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret control information, identify themes and trends, and communicate clear management information and escalations to senior stakeholders. (Required)
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience working across Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, External Audit and business teams. (Required)
- Experience using governance, risk and control workflow tools. (Preferred)

- Great communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to tailor complex messages to different audiences. (Required)
- Great problem-solving, planning and delivery skills, with personal resilience when managing challenging circumstances. (Required)

Salary Range:
£55,167.00 - £82,751.00 per annum (depending on experience)
This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
