Administrative Coordinator

Role Description The Owner role at The Arabic Spotlight is a part-time, remote position responsible for overseeing the platform’s strategic direction and daily operations. The owner will define the editorial vision, guide content planning, and ensure that published material aligns with the mission of amplifying authentic voices from the Arab world. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating contributors, reviewing and approving content, managing partnerships, and monitoring audience engagement across digital channels. The owner will also oversee brand development, set priorities for growth initiatives, and manage budgets and resources to sustain and expand the platform.

Qualifications

• Strong strategic planning and leadership abilities, including experience setting vision, goals, and priorities for a project, organization, or media platform.
• Background or strong interest in media, communications, journalism, or content-focused initiatives, particularly related to the Arab world or global cultural dialogue.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is highly beneficial.
• Experience managing remote teams, collaborators, or contributors, with the ability to coordinate workflows and meet deadlines in a virtual environment.
• Familiarity with digital platforms, social media, and basic online publishing tools; understanding of audience engagement and community-building strategies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities in a part-time capacity.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, including comfort with decision-making, resource management, and developing partnerships or sponsorships.
• Relevant academic background or professional experience in fields such as media, international relations, cultural studies, business, or a related discipline is an advantage.
