Senior HSE Specialist

Role Description The Owner of Toxic Places to Work (TPTW) will oversee the strategic direction, operations, and brand presence of the organization in a part-time, remote capacity. Day-to-day tasks include defining business goals, managing budgets, and making key decisions about services, partnerships, and platform features. The role requires coordinating with contractors or vendors, overseeing marketing and content initiatives, and ensuring ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory practices across all activities. The Owner will monitor performance metrics, manage risk, and maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Additional responsibilities include building and nurturing an online community, representing the organization in virtual meetings or events, and continuously refining offerings based on user feedback and market trends.
Qualifications

• Leadership and management skills, including strategic planning, decision-making, and the ability to oversee projects and teams remotely.
• Business operations and financial acumen, such as budgeting, forecasting, and understanding basic accounting and compliance requirements.
• Marketing and brand development capabilities, including familiarity with digital marketing, social media, and community engagement.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to represent the organization professionally in virtual settings.
• Experience working in or managing remote environments, with solid time management, organization, and self-direction.
• Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory practices, with sensitivity to workplace culture, employee well-being, and confidentiality.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, set measurable goals, and adapt strategies based on results.
• Prior experience as a founder, owner, or senior leader of a mission-driven organization, platform, or community-focused initiative is highly beneficial.
