Location: Egypt – Remote – Australian Time Zone
Koinonia Enterprises is looking for a technically capable and business-minded AI, Automation & IT Systems Specialist to support our Australian operations and help drive the next stage of our digital transformation.
This is a hybrid AI, automation and IT role. The main focus is to design and build tailored internal tools, automation workflows and AI-powered platforms that improve business efficiency, centralise organisational knowledge and reduce manual work.
A key objective of the role is to help develop Koinonia’s internal digital brain — a secure AI-powered knowledge and automation platform that can connect company documents, procedures, operational information and business systems, allowing employees and management to find information, automate repetitive processes and interact with company knowledge more effectively.
The role also includes selected Microsoft 365, SharePoint, IT administration, information-security and ISO support responsibilities.
The position is remote and requires close collaboration with our Australian management and operational teams. The successful candidate must be comfortable working Australian business hours / Australian time zone.
• Design and build tailored internal tools, platforms and business applications
• Develop and maintain AI-powered solutions using LLMs, APIs and company data
• Help design and build Koinonia’s internal digital brain / enterprise knowledge platform
• Develop document ingestion, search, retrieval and knowledge-management workflows
• Build AI-assisted workflows that help employees access company information and complete repetitive tasks more efficiently
• Develop and maintain automation workflows, internal applications and business tools
• Identify repetitive or inefficient business processes and propose practical automation solutions
• Integrate internal tools with Microsoft 365, SharePoint and other business systems
• Maintain and improve existing automation, scripts and internal applications
• Troubleshoot failed workflows, applications and integrations
• Administer Microsoft 365, including user accounts, mailboxes, licences, permissions and access
• Manage SharePoint sites, document libraries, security groups and user permissions
• Provide first-line IT support and troubleshoot day-to-day technical issues
• Support information-security controls, user access reviews and secure system configuration
• Support ISO 27001 information-security requirements and related compliance activities
• Assist with maintaining ISO policies, procedures, registers, evidence and audit documentation
• Support internal reporting, trackers and digital business processes where required
• Strong experience with Python or similar scripting/programming languages
• Experience building internal tools, business applications or automation solutions
• Experience working with LLMs, AI APIs or generative AI platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude or similar
• Understanding of RAG, enterprise search, embeddings, document retrieval or knowledge-management concepts
• Experience integrating systems using APIs
• Good knowledge of SQL and working with structured business data
• Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
• Experience with SharePoint administration, permissions and document management
• Experience with Power Automate or similar workflow-automation platforms
• Ability to understand business processes and translate them into practical technical solutions
• Good understanding of authentication, permissions, access control and data security
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and spoken English
• Comfortable working remotely with Australian management and operational teams
• Ability and willingness to work Australian business hours / Australian time zone
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and follow solutions through from idea to implementation
• Experience with Microsoft Graph API
• Experience building RAG-based or internal AI knowledge systems
• Azure AI / Azure OpenAI experience
• Experience with vector databases or enterprise search technologies
• Power Platform experience, including Power Automate and Power Apps
• Experience with lightweight web application development
• Git and source-control experience
• Experience deploying and maintaining internal applications
• Microsoft 365 Administrator experience or certification
• ISO 27001 or information-security experience
• Experience working in telecommunications, engineering or project-based organisations
This role is ideal for someone who combines AI and automation capability with practical IT administration and strong business understanding.
We are not looking only for a traditional IT support person or a research-focused AI engineer. We need someone who can understand a real business problem, design a practical solution, build and integrate the required tool, and continue supporting it in production.
The successful candidate will work closely with Koinonia’s management and existing process owners in Australia, with specialist knowledge-transfer and escalation support available during the transition period.
