Role Description The Sr. DataBase Administrator will manage, maintain, and optimize databases that support ALSERRY’s cloud and enterprise solutions in a remote, contract capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring database performance, implementing backup and recovery strategies, and ensuring high availability and data integrity across environments. The role involves designing and refining database schemas, managing replication and clustering configurations, and handling capacity planning and resource utilization. The Sr. DataBase Administrator will troubleshoot complex database issues, collaborate with development and infrastructure teams on deployments, and enforce security and compliance standards for data access and storage.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Database Administration and Databases, including performance tuning, backup, recovery, and security management.
• Candidates should possess skills in Database Design and schema optimization to support scalable and efficient applications.
• Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex database and replication issues.
• Candidates should possess skills in Replication and high-availability technologies, such as clustering, mirroring, or failover solutions.
• Experience with major RDBMS platforms (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is beneficial.
• Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python) and configuration management is beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote, contract setting are required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
