We have a fantastic opportunity for an Associate Solicitor to join our Cardiff team.

Sedgwick Legal Services advises and handles disputes for major insurers, Lloyds syndicates, large corporates, utilities, and local authorities. This role will focus on property damage losses, including those caused by major fires, floods, building collapse, escape of water, and subsidence. Our Legal team leads from our Central Bristol Office, with colleagues in Cardiff and London. The role requires a hybrid working model with three days per week in our Bristol office.

Main duties and responsibilities include Defending and case management of litigated files, including obtaining evidence, and developing knowledge of litigation tactics in Personal Injury and property-related insurance claims. You'll also ensure compliance with Sedgwick’s systems and procedures and meet internal targets for time recording and billing.

This is perfect for being part of a market-leading and award-winning multinational company, shaping the offering of an ambitious challenger law firm, and committing to an engaging colleague environment that prioritises wellbeing, development, creative autonomy, and subject-matter excellence.

The skills you will have when you apply:

  • Professional Qualifications: Preferably be a qualified Solicitor or equivalent (CILEX).
  • Expertise: Knowledge and experience of the litigation process is essential.
  • Insurance Law: Experience in insurance-based personal injury or property damage law.
  • Technical Knowledge: Have experience handling litigated defendant Personal Injury claims.
  • Team Orientation: Be willing to supervise others, be team-orientated, with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.
  • Commercial Perspective: Have an ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to claims settlement.

The skills that will be developed once working:

  • Comprehensive Training: You'll receive all the Sedgwick-specific training needed to excel in your role.

What we’ll give you for this role:
