Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time, remote role responsible for organizing and supporting volunteers who contribute to Thin Film Engineer’s educational and outreach activities. This role includes recruiting and onboarding volunteers, coordinating schedules, and matching volunteers to tasks such as content support, community engagement, and resource distribution. The coordinator will maintain regular communication with volunteers, provide ongoing guidance and training, and ensure they have clear expectations and tools to succeed. Day-to-day tasks involve updating volunteer records, monitoring participation, facilitating online meetings or check-ins, and collaborating with the site owner to align volunteer efforts with program goals. The role also includes developing and implementing volunteer recognition practices to foster an inclusive, positive volunteer experience.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training to effectively recruit, onboard, and support a diverse volunteer team.
• Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, provide guidance, and maintain clear, consistent contact with volunteers and stakeholders.
• Candidates should possess experience in Community Outreach to help grow the audience, promote educational resources, and strengthen relationships with the broader engineering community.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and use online collaboration tools confidently.
• Previous experience coordinating volunteers, community programs, education, or nonprofit initiatives is beneficial.
• Interest in STEM education, semiconductors, or technical training is advantageous but not required.
