Do you have hands-on experience with QHSE management systems and ISO standards, such as ISO 9001? Are you an experienced prevention advisor who enjoys turning risks into practical improvements?

At Railtraxx, you'll have the opportunity to put your expertise into practice in a broad QHSE role, with a particular focus on well-being and safety in rail freight.

Railway experience is a plus, but not a requirement. We will help you develop your knowledge of the specific railway environment through our training programme.

💼 What will you do?

✔️ Prevention & Safety: Conduct and update risk assessments, advise on well-being at work and contribute to a strong safety culture.

✔️ Incident Management: Investigate incidents, analyse root causes and develop practical improvement measures together with operational teams.

✔️ Quality & Processes: Maintain the QHSE management system and ensure procedures and work instructions remain practical and up to date.

✔️ Audits & Inspections: Conduct internal audits and inspections, support external audits and follow up on improvement actions.

✔️ Regulations & Permits: Work closely with the Head of QHSE to monitor applicable regulations, licences and safety permits in Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany.

✔️ Reporting & Consultation: Monitor safety and quality indicators, contribute to statutory reporting and prepare and support CPBW meetings.

✔️ Collaboration: Provide expert QHSE advice and work on improvement projects together with the Head of QHSE, Operations and other colleagues.

This is not just an administrative role. We are looking for someone who thinks critically, provides sound advice and makes sure that procedures actually work in everyday practice.

🎯 What are we looking for?

Essential qualifications and skills:

✅ Practical experience with QHSE management systems and ISO standards.

✅ A Prevention Advisor Level 2 or Level 1 qualification.

✅ Proven hands-on experience as a prevention advisor, with the ability to assess risks independently, provide advice and follow up on improvement actions.

✅ A higher level of professional and analytical thinking, acquired through education and/or relevant experience.

✅ Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

✅ A good understanding of German and the ability to communicate when needed.

✅ A structured and responsible approach, with the ability to manage several files and priorities simultaneously.

✅ A critical mindset, combined with a collaborative and solution-oriented attitude.

✅ Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

These are a plus, but not essential:

⭐ Experience in rail transport, logistics, industry or another operational environment.

⭐ Experience with QHSE management systems and ISO standards, such as ISO 9001.

⭐ Additional experience or certification in auditing.

⭐ Knowledge of French.

You don't need to know everything about railways from day one. A solid background in prevention, practical QHSE experience, a strong sense of responsibility and the motivation to learn are what matter most to us.
