About the company:

A fast-growing global company is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to lead its Finance function in Japan, where the business is still in its early startup phase.

The company offers an opportunity to take ownership of local Finance operations, contribute to building a scalable Finance function, and work closely with senior leadership and global Finance teams.

• Finance Leadership Opportunity: Take ownership of the entire Finance function in Japan as the sole Finance professional, reporting directly to the Japan GM and working closely with global Finance leadership. No prior people management experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, FP&A, and financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial closing, and reporting.
• Manage tax compliance, statutory reporting, audits, and internal controls.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital, and intercompany transactions.
• Improve Finance processes and systems while partnering with local leadership and global Finance teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Finance & Accounting, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Strong hands-on Accounting experience, including J-GAAP, tax, and financial closing.
• Fluent Japanese and business-level English.

Preferred:

• Experience in a startup, growing business, or small local entity.
• Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering.
• Experience with ERP systems and the ability to work independently.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
