Freelance Short-Form Social and Digital Editor (Mid-Level, Remote but SA based) - R33,000 pm - Contract: asap - end of year

This is a remote position.

The role

We’re looking for a fast, efficient short-form editor to join our digital team. You’ll cut social-first video for a steady flow of briefs: video moments, promo resizes, rebrands, montages, shout-outs and watchlist content for TikTok, Instagram, X and YouTube.

What you’ll do

• Cut short-form edits from episodes, promos and raw footage to tight daily and weekly deadlines
  
• Resize and reversion content across 9x16, 1x1, 4x5 and 16x9
  
• Add branding, endboards, subtitles and on-screen text in line with channel guidelines
  
• Turn around client feedback quickly and accurately
  
• Manage several briefs at once and keep producers updated
  

Requirements

What you’ll need

• 3 to 5 years’ experience editing short-form or social content, ideally for broadcast or entertainment brands
  
• Strong Premiere Pro skills; After Effects is a plus
  
• A good eye for pace, hooks and what works on each platform
  
• Speed without losing attention to detail
  
• Reliable internet and your own editing setup
  
• Comfortable working remotely, sometimes under tight deadlines
