Role Description This is a remote volunteer role for a Full Stack Development Tutor at Spent Academy. The tutor will guide learners through full stack concepts, including front-end, back-end, databases, and deployment workflows. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and delivering online lessons or workshops, reviewing code submissions, providing constructive feedback, and answering technical questions via chat, video, or forum. The tutor will help create or refine learning materials, share best practices in software development, and support learners in building portfolio-ready projects. Collaboration with other tutors and community members to improve the curriculum and learner experience is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern frameworks such as React, Vue, or similar).
• Practical experience with back-end development (e.g., Node.js, Python, Ruby, or similar) and building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with databases and data persistence (e.g., SQL, NoSQL systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Understanding of version control and deployment workflows (e.g., Git/GitHub, CI/CD, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Heroku).
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to learners with varying levels of experience.
• Previous teaching, mentoring, or coaching experience is beneficial but not required.
• Commitment to an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
• Reliable internet connection and comfort with remote collaboration tools (e.g., video conferencing, online whiteboards, chat platforms).
