About the Role
The Funding & Partnerships Associate will support the organisation's fundraising and partnership-building efforts, working closely with the COO to identify opportunities, manage donor relationships, and ensure grant requirements are met. As a start-up environment, the ideal candidate is comfortable working with a good degree of autonomy, staying organised across multiple relationships and deadlines, and helping build simple systems for donor and partner management as the organisation grows.
Key Responsibilities
● Research and identify relevant funding, donor, and partnership opportunities aligned with the organisation's thematic areas.
● Support the drafting and submission of grant proposals, concept notes, and partnership pitches.
● Maintain a tracker of donor/partner communications, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
● Support timely and accurate donor reporting, working closely with the Program Manager for program updates.
● Help coordinate and prepare for donor/partner meetings, including scheduling and follow-ups.
● Maintain organised records of agreements, MOUs, and correspondence with partners.
● Support relationship-building activities that help sustain and grow existing partnerships.
Skill Requirements
● Strong written communication skills: drafting proposals, reports, and professional correspondence.
● Good research skills, with the ability to identify and assess funding/partnership opportunities.
● Solid organisational skills: able to track multiple relationships and deadlines at once.
● Familiar with tracking and coordination tools.
● Professional, relationship-oriented communication style, both written and verbal.
● Self-directed and comfortable working independently in a remote, start-up environment.
Education & Experience
● Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (International Development, Communications, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related).
● 3 years of relevant experience in grants management, partnerships, fundraising, or a related role, ideally in the NGO or social impact sector.
● Demonstrated track record of contributing to grant proposals, concept notes, or donor reports (please share examples or a portfolio if available).
● Experience managing correspondence or relationships with multiple external stakeholders.
● Remote work experience is a plus but not required.
