Responsibilities:

• Manage and improve the reliability, operation, and performance of large-scale distributed database systems.
• Lead database projects from design through execution, including deployment, upgrades, scaling, data migration, and capacity planning across multiple data centers.
• Develop automation tools and improve deployment reliability using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and scripting.
• Collaborate with SRE, DBRE, and development teams to improve infrastructure reliability, performance, and fault tolerance.
• Monitor systems, troubleshoot complex database failures, and lead incident response and root cause analysis.
• Define and improve SLOs, SLIs, monitoring, alerting, and observability.
• Plan and execute major operational changes, including database upgrades, migrations, and failover exercises.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and help strengthen the team's technical capabilities.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of practical experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or infrastructure operations.
• Experience operating large-scale production systems over an extended period.
• Strong experience with distributed database systems such as Cassandra, Hadoop, Kafka, Redis Cluster, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, TiDB, or similar technologies.
• Solid Linux system administration skills, including performance analysis, storage, and networking fundamentals.
• Experience developing automation and operational tools using Python, Go, Shell, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership.
• Japanese: N2 level or above, with conversational ability.
• English: Advanced proficiency, including written communication and technical reporting.
