The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Program Manager to join QBE’s Modernisation team for 12 months. You’ll lead end-to-end capability programs and targeted learning solutions supporting complex transformation, with a focus on non-technical skills and capabilities.

About QBE

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch.

We’re an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries – which means we’re big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It’s an exciting time. We’re building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

What if you could have a positive impact – at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you’ll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.

Your new role:

Working closely with senior leaders and transformation teams, you’ll translate business priorities into practical approaches that build the capabilities needed to support Modernisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Translate business and transformation priorities into clear capability and learning requirements.
  • Partner with leaders and subject matter experts to define priority capabilities, behaviours and capability gaps.
  • Lead learning and capability workstreams aligned to broader transformation milestones, dependencies and outcomes.
  • Design practical, business-led capability journeys using targeted learning and workplace interventions.
  • Coordinate instructional designers, internal specialists and external providers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Define success measures and evaluate learning effectiveness, capability uplift and business impact.

About You

You’ll bring strong learning and capability expertise together with experience delivering within large, complex transformation environments. Comfortable navigating ambiguity and competing priorities, you can build trusted relationships with senior leaders, translate complex business needs into practical solutions and maintain a clear focus on measurable outcomes.

You'll also have:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering learning or capability within large, complex transformation programs or projects.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary learning practices and the end-to-end learning lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of project or program disciplines, including milestones, dependencies, risks and delivery commitments.
  • Experience partnering with and influencing senior leaders in fast-paced environments.
  • A demonstrated track record delivering significant learning or capability initiatives to agreed outcomes, timeframes and budgets.
  • Experience managing external providers, budgets and delivery partners.

Benefits

We offer a range of benefits to help provide holistic support for your work life, whatever your circumstances. As a QBE employee you will have access to and benefit from:

  • Hybrid working – a mix of working from home and in the office to support work/life balance
  • Free holistic wellbeing coaching, nutritional support, confidential counselling, financial and legal advice
  • 18 weeks' gender-equal flexible leave for all new parents, including paid superannuation
