The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Letter of Credit Officer to support trade finance operations, coordinate letter of credit processing, and help ensure compliant and efficient international trade transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Process import and export letters of credit and related trade finance documentation.
• Review documents to ensure compliance with letter of credit terms.
• Work closely with Trade Finance, Banking Operations, Finance, Compliance, Risk, and Customer Support teams.
• Coordinate with banks, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding documentary credit transactions.
• Monitor letter of credit transactions and follow up on outstanding documentation.
• Maintain accurate trade finance records and operational documentation.
• Prepare trade finance reports, trackers, and management updates.
• Support amendments, document presentations, and transaction processing activities.
• Help resolve routine documentary discrepancies and operational inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and international trade finance standards.
• Maintain organized records and document control procedures.
• Support audits and compliance-related trade finance activities.
• Promote accuracy and efficiency across trade finance operations.
• Assist with cross-functional banking and finance projects.
• Stay informed about trade finance and international banking best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Banking, or a related field is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in trade finance, letter of credit operations, banking, or a related role is an advantage.
• Good understanding of documentary credits and international trade finance processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience with SWIFT, banking platforms, ERP systems, SAP, or Microsoft Office is an advantage.
• Familiarity with UCP 600, import/export documentation, document checking, or trade compliance is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with international teams.
• UAE or GCC trade finance experience is an advantage but not required.
• Relevant CDCS, banking, or trade finance certifications are welcome but not mandatory.
