Patient Registration Specialist

Role Description The Patient Registration Specialist is a part-time, remote role responsible for accurately registering patients and verifying their information for insurance and billing purposes. In this position, the specialist will collect and enter patient demographics, confirm insurance coverage, and ensure that medical records and documentation are complete and up to date. Daily tasks include responding to patient inquiries, explaining registration procedures, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve registration or insurance issues. The specialist will maintain strict confidentiality, follow applicable regulations, and support a smooth, efficient intake process that promotes positive patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Patient Registration and familiarity with front-office or intake workflows.
• Knowledge of Insurance Verification processes and basic understanding of Medical Terminology.
• Demonstrated Customer Service skills, including clear communication and problem-solving.
• Awareness of Patient Care principles, with a focus on empathy, respect, and confidentiality.
• Prior experience in a healthcare, clinic, or medical office setting is preferred.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with electronic health records or similar systems, and solid data entry accuracy.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in healthcare administration is a plus.
