-------------【About the company】-------------
"Infrastructure + LIFE + Innovation"
The company is a technology venture that can develop AI platforms from scratch.
The technology has been recognized by numerous domestic and international companies and is used to solve "social infrastructure" issues in a variety of fields, including plant optimization, power plant power quantity prediction, and fault detection in large-scale factories, and is expanding its business.
And, with ultra-high data analysis capabilities, the company is working to solve real social problems by creating a system that can infer the meaning of data and its background, and solve real social problems.
-------------【 Job Description】-------------
As a Project Manager, you will structure client business challenges and design practical solutions that leverage AI and mathematical optimization. From there, you will lead AI initiatives within the social infrastructure sector (such as energy, manufacturing, and logistics) from initial conception through to execution. This position requires a solid grasp of both technology and development processes, empowering you to work closely alongside clients to accelerate and expand business value.
Issue Assessment & Conceptualization
・Organize and structure client challenges and requirements by conducting interviews across all levels, from executive leadership to front-line operators.
・Formulate solution hypotheses tailored to client issues and lead alignment sessions to validate and secure buy-in on the approach.
Solution Design
・Establish development strategies that blend mathematical optimization, machine learning, and simulations while keeping long-term operational viability in mind.
Project Execution
・Provide cross-functional leadership to expert teams comprising AI/optimization engineers (data scientists) and software engineers to drive project momentum.
Decision-Making & Management
・Make strategic choices focused on overall project optimization, carefully weighing technical trade-offs (performance vs. development costs vs. maintainability) and QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery).
・Lead stakeholder communications to explain these decisions and build solid consensus.
Quality & Risk Management
・Oversee quality and risk controls across every phase from PoC to production release, determining course corrections and formulating recovery plans when issues arise.
Value Expansion
・Look beyond current project boundaries to conceptualize and drive business expansion for clients, paving the way for new solution deployments.
■Project Examples:
・Power Utilities: Maximizing power operation efficiency and reducing environmental impact by optimizing power generation planning and supply-demand adjustments through AI.
・Manufacturing: Boosting supply chain efficiency and driving down costs for manufacturers by optimizing production schedules and inventory allocation.
・Logistics: Supporting transit efficiency improvements and environmental impact reductions in the logistics and transportation sectors by optimizing shipping and delivery plans.
■Organizational Structure
・Engineering departments are divided by specific business domains (Electric Power, Manufacturing/Production, Vessel Scheduling, and Urban Transportation). Assignments are aligned with your career preferences and aptitude.
・Led by the AI Project Manager (this position), projects are executed by cross-functional teams of diverse professionals, including Sales, AI Consultants, AI Architects, Data Scientists (Optimization Engineers), Systems Engineers, and domain-specific infrastructure experts.
・Team sizing scales with the project phase: typical PoC teams consist of 1 PM and 1–2 Engineers, while full-scale production development teams expand to around 2 PMs and 3–6 Engineers.
・The company fosters a highly collaborative culture built on mutual respect for each member's expertise, promoting flat, open discussions to tackle complex societal challenges as a cohesive unit.
・Once the PoC phase of AI development concludes, the project transitions to the next stage—building the actual front-line application—while maintaining close, continuous integration with the application development teams.
■Work Environment & Key Attractiveness
Position Highilights
・Robust Onboarding & Learning Support: Prior AI knowledge is not required at the time of joining. In addition to hands-on OJT within live projects, we provide a structured training curriculum to ensure those without previous AI experience can steadily acquire the necessary skills.
・Professional Growth: Through project experience, you will gain specialized, cutting-edge expertise in data science. Partnering with diverse industries and major enterprises also provides frequent exposure to new knowledge and complex business challenges.
・High Level of Discretion: With significant individual autonomy, your proposals and actions will directly influence the growth of both the projects and the overall business.
・Social Impact: By working on initiatives that evolve vital infrastructure, you will experience the tangible value of making a meaningful contribution to society.
Work-Life Balance & Flexibility Initiatives
The company places a high priority on flexibility, offering the following frameworks to support the team:
・Super-Flextime System: A coreless flextime system that fully respects individual work styles.
・Remote Work System: A flexible model that leaves office attendance entirely to the employee's discretion, while factoring in specific project needs.
*Note: For this position, dynamic project requirements may necessitate office attendance approximately 1 to 2 days per week.
■Career Path
In the rapidly expanding AI market, this position offers an exceptional environment to build a high-market-value career as an AI Development Project Manager.
・Short-Term (Acquiring AI Implementation Expertise)
Initially, you will join projects scaled from tens to hundreds of millions of yen as an AI Development PM (Business Architect). In this phase, you will master the "social implementation know-how" needed to integrate sophisticated algorithms into actual operational workflows, alongside learning how to manage requirements definition tailored to the inherent uncertainties of AI development.
・Mid-Term (Large-Scale Projects & Multi-Management)
Step up to a Lead PM overseeing massive, social-infrastructure-grade projects valued in the hundreds of millions of yen. You will manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams concurrently, taking the helm to drive transformation across major domains like electric power, manufacturing, and smart cities.
・Long-Term (Stepping into Executive or Technical Leadership)
Depending on your personal aspirations and strengths, you can expand your career horizontally or vertically. Paths include becoming a Business Unit Head driving organizational growth, entering the CXO track (such as VPoE or CTO) to optimize technical organizations, or becoming a specialized Tech Evangelist at the pinnacle of a specific technical domain.
*The timeline above serves as a primary example; the company provides a flexible framework that empowers you to design a diverse career path aligned with your personal goals and aptitude.
-------------【 Requirements】-------------
■Required
Experience in any of the following areas (*AI development experience is not required):
Experience in any phase—from requirements definition to design, implementation, or release—of web or business system development
Experience as an IT consultant in system planning, requirements definition, and architecture design
Experience leading projects involving various stakeholders (job title is not important; as long as you have taken on a leadership role, that is sufficient)
■Preferred
Design experience as an IT architect or tech lead (in applications, data infrastructure, or infrastructure)
Experience with data science, machine learning, or mathematical optimization projects (experience limited to requirements definition or proof of concept is acceptable)
Experience implementing applications using Python, TypeScript, Java, etc.
Practical experience in industries related to social infrastructure, such as power, manufacturing, plant design, or logistics (experience on either the client or vendor side is acceptable)
Basic knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and optimization
*You do not need to meet all of these requirements.
■Ideal Applicants
Enjoys breaking down and bringing sharp clarity to ambiguous business challenges.
Respects diverse team perspectives while possessing the ability to synthesize discussions and drive definitive alignment when needed.
Capable of assessing risks and impacts to make firm decisions based on available data at any given moment—and thrives in that fast-paced environment.
Intrigued by both high-level design/management and being close to the practical execution.
Driven by a strong desire to improve social infrastructure through technology, with a focus on tackling themes that deliver massive business and societal impact.
Possesses a strong growth mindset and ambition to excel in the future, even if current project management experience is still developing.
