About The Role

UCM is hiring Recruitment Consultants to join our growing international recruitment team, with opportunities across UCM Education UK, UCM Middle East and UCM Global.

We are looking for recruiters who can confidently source and engage candidates, conduct screening calls, assess suitability, manage follow-ups and keep recruitment pipelines moving.

Rather than recruiting narrowly for one particular desk, we are looking for strong recruitment talent across the group. Depending on your strengths, experience and business needs, you may work primarily within candidate recruitment or in a role that also includes some structured client outreach.

For UCM Education UK, roles will remain primarily candidate and recruitment focused.

Within UCM Middle East and UCM Global, the role may also involve contacting target organisations, introducing our services and following up professionally alongside your recruitment activity. You do not need to be an experienced business developer — target markets, processes and structure will be provided.

UCM Education has operated within the UK education recruitment market for over 11 years, and our wider group continues to expand across new markets internationally.

We are looking for hungry, driven and commercially aware recruiters who want to develop within a business where strong performance, ownership and progression are recognised.

What You'll Be Focused On

Your core focus will be sourcing, screening, engaging and progressing strong candidates, building relationships and maintaining consistent recruitment activity.

Depending on the area of the group you support, you may also carry out light, structured outreach to prospective client organisations.

This is a fast-moving role built around communication, follow-through, judgement and outcomes — not passive recruitment administration.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Sourcing suitable candidates through databases, job boards and other recruitment channels
  • Reviewing CVs and assessing experience, suitability, strengths and potential concerns
  • Conducting candidate screening and qualification calls
  • Building strong professional relationships with candidates
  • Managing candidate communication through calls, email and messages
  • Keeping candidate pipelines active through consistent follow-up
  • Progressing suitable candidates through the recruitment process
  • Updating the CRM accurately and consistently
  • Working towards recruitment activity, pipeline and placement targets
  • Maintaining clear, professional and timely communication with the wider team
  • Taking ownership of your recruitment activity and following through consistently
  • Where relevant, conducting structured outreach to target organisations and maintaining professional follow-up
  • Developing knowledge of the market, sector and geographic area you support

What We Offer

  • Recruitment opportunities across UK and international markets
  • Clear earning potential through basic salary, commission and bonuses
  • Basic salary reviewed every 6 months based on performance, progression and contribution
  • Structured training and ongoing support
  • Access to established recruitment systems, databases and networks
  • The opportunity to take increasing ownership of your recruitment market
  • Long-term progression across the wider UCM group
  • Remote working with a supportive international team
  • Company-sponsored team socials and meetups
  • A culture that values ownership, communication, consistency and growth

Who This Role Suits

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Is hungry, driven and motivated by growth
  • Wants to build a long-term recruitment career
  • Enjoys speaking to people and building professional relationships
  • Is confident conducting candidate calls and creating recruitment momentum
  • Likes working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Can assess candidates rather than simply process applications
  • Is comfortable taking ownership and working independently
  • Is responsive, organised and consistent with follow-up
  • Is coachable, resilient and willing to develop
  • Is commercially aware and comfortable representing the business professionally
  • Is open to some structured client outreach where relevant to the role

What We're Looking For

  • Around 1+ year of recruitment experience
  • Hands-on experience sourcing and screening candidates
  • Confidence conducting candidate calls
  • Ability to assess CVs and candidate suitability
  • Experience using a CRM, ATS, recruitment database or similar system
  • Strong spoken and written English
  • Professional and confident communication
  • Ability to work at pace within a target-driven environment
  • Strong organisation, responsiveness and follow-through
  • A proactive, ownership-led approach
  • Good judgement and willingness to learn
  • Motivation to build a long-term career in recruitment
  • Availability to work UK business hours

Previous client outreach or business development exposure is welcome but not required.

Preferred Backgrounds

Relevant backgrounds may include:

  • Agency recruitment
  • Education recruitment
  • Healthcare recruitment
  • International recruitment
  • Internal recruitment
  • Talent acquisition
  • Recruitment resourcing
  • HR or recruitment support with genuine candidate-facing experience
  • Recruitment roles involving some client or stakeholder communication

We are interested in what you have personally done and achieved, rather than job title alone.

This Role Is Not For You If

  • Your recruitment experience has been purely administrative with little candidate interaction
  • You are uncomfortable conducting screening or qualification calls
  • You cannot clearly explain how you source and assess candidates
  • You are looking for a slow-paced or purely process-based role
  • You are uncomfortable working towards targets and recruitment outcomes
  • You need detailed direction before taking every next step
  • You are unwilling to carry out professional outreach where this forms part of your assigned market
  • You are only interested in remote working rather than developing a recruitment career

Why Join UCM

You will be joining an international recruitment business with opportunities across UCM Education UK, UCM Middle East and UCM Global.

Rather than being restricted to one desk from the outset, strong consultants can be matched to the area where their skills and potential are most valuable.

Whether your strengths are primarily in candidate recruitment or you also have the confidence to support structured client outreach, there is scope to develop your market knowledge, take greater ownership and progress as the group continues to grow.

We are looking for recruiters who are professional, driven, coachable, commercially aware and ready to make an impact.
