Sales Executive / Business Development Executive

Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Sales Executive / Business Development Executive within the IEEE RAS – UJ Chapter. The individual will identify and approach potential sponsors, partners, and collaborators to support chapter events, competitions, and workshops. Daily tasks include researching prospective organizations, preparing outreach communications, scheduling and conducting virtual meetings, and maintaining accurate records of leads and opportunities. The role also involves supporting the development of partnership proposals, coordinating with the chapter’s leadership to align sponsorship opportunities with strategic goals, and following up consistently to nurture long-term relationships. The executive will collaborate with the marketing and events teams to ensure partner visibility and fulfillment of agreed commitments.

• Candidates should possess strong sales, negotiation, and business development skills focused on building and maintaining partnerships.
• Candidates should possess effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for engaging sponsors, stakeholders, and team members.
• Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple leads, meetings, and follow-ups in a part-time remote setting.
• Candidates should possess basic research and analytical skills to identify potential sponsors and assess alignment with chapter activities.
• Relevant qualifications such as experience in student organizations, fundraising, or community initiatives are beneficial.
• Familiarity with robotics, technology, or STEM fields, and comfort using online collaboration tools (e.g., email, video conferencing, shared documents) is an advantage.
• Currently enrolled students or recent graduates with an interest in sales, marketing, or business-related fields are encouraged to apply.
