We are looking for a passionate and imaginative Scriptwriter / Story Developer who is excited about storytelling, creative experimentation and the future of AI-assisted filmmaking.

Role Overview

The successful collaborator will be responsible for developing original story concepts, writing engaging scripts and transforming creative ideas into compelling narratives suitable for AI-assisted film and video production.

We are particularly interested in someone who understands that great entertainment goes beyond visuals and technology — it begins with a powerful story, relatable characters and meaningful dialogue.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop original story concepts, plots and screenplays for short films, animated productions and episodic series.
• Write engaging scripts with compelling narratives, character development, dialogue and emotional depth.
• Develop interesting characters, fictional worlds and storylines that can potentially evolve into recurring productions or entertainment franchises.
• Explore different genres, including drama, thriller, mystery, comedy, science fiction, fantasy and African-inspired storytelling.
• Collaborate with the creative and production team to translate written scripts into AI-generated visual productions.
• Adapt stories and scripts based on creative feedback, production requirements and audience insights.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas towards the creative direction of Grooveli Studio.
• Maintain consistency in storytelling, character development and narrative continuity across episodic productions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A genuine passion for storytelling, creative writing and screenwriting.
• Strong writing, narrative development and creative communication skills.
• Ability to develop original ideas and translate them into engaging stories.
• Good understanding of screenplay structure, dialogue writing, character development and storytelling techniques.
• Interest in films, animation, entertainment, digital media and emerging creative technologies.
• Ability to work independently, meet agreed creative deadlines and collaborate with a remote creative team.
• A portfolio of previous scripts, short stories, creative writing projects or published works is an advantage.

Note: We are more interested in creative ability, originality and storytelling potential than formal academic qualifications.

Compensation & Collaboration Structure

This is an initial voluntary creative collaboration opportunity intended for individuals interested in building original entertainment properties alongside an emerging creative studio.

Rather than a conventional salaried employment arrangement, compensation will be structured around a revenue-sharing model, subject to mutual agreement between the parties.

Specific revenue-sharing percentages, project contributions, intellectual property ownership, payment arrangements and other relevant terms will be discussed and documented in a separate written agreement before production or commercial exploitation of any project.

This presents an opportunity to contribute to the development of original entertainment properties while participating in the commercial value generated by agreed projects.
