About the Role

The Senior Cosmetic Stability Testing Specialist provides technical expertise in evaluating the stability, shelf-life characteristics, and quality consistency of cosmetic and personal care products. The role focuses on reviewing stability study data, assessing physical and chemical changes, evaluating packaging compatibility, and identifying potential product degradation under different storage conditions. Working entirely remotely, the specialist collaborates with formulation scientists, quality assurance teams, contract testing laboratories, packaging suppliers, and regulatory professionals to support product development and maintain reliable stability documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and interpret stability testing data for cosmetic and personal care products, including skincare, haircare, fragrances, and body care formulations.
  • Evaluate product performance under accelerated, long-term, intermediate, and temperature-cycling stability conditions.
  • Assess changes in appearance, colour, odour, viscosity, pH, texture, phase separation, and other relevant product characteristics.
  • Review analytical results relating to active ingredients, preservatives, antioxidants, and other formulation components.
  • Evaluate the impact of temperature, humidity, light exposure, and storage conditions on product stability.
  • Assess packaging compatibility, including potential interactions between formulations and primary packaging materials.
  • Review stability protocols, sampling schedules, acceptance criteria, and technical reports for completeness and scientific validity.
  • Analyze trends across stability time points and identify potential degradation patterns or product quality concerns.
  • Evaluate formulation robustness and recommend additional investigations when stability results indicate unexpected changes.
  • Review preservative effectiveness and microbiological stability documentation in coordination with qualified laboratory professionals.
  • Assess the implications of formulation changes, raw material substitutions, and packaging modifications on established stability profiles.
  • Support the scientific justification of proposed shelf-life periods and product storage recommendations.
  • Review batch-to-batch stability variations and identify potential formulation or manufacturing-related contributors.
  • Coordinate remotely with testing laboratories to investigate anomalous results and resolve documentation discrepancies.
  • Prepare stability assessment reports, technical summaries, trend analyses, and recommendations for corrective or preventive action.
  • Maintain controlled records of stability protocols, results, deviations, investigations, and conclusions.
  • Support quality audits and regulatory documentation reviews relating to cosmetic product stability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of stability testing procedures, data review practices, and reporting standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in cosmetic stability testing, formulation development, analytical quality control, or personal care product quality assurance.
  • Strong understanding of cosmetic formulation chemistry and the factors affecting product stability.
  • Experience reviewing accelerated and real-time stability studies and interpreting results across multiple storage conditions.
  • Knowledge of physical and chemical stability indicators, including pH, viscosity, colour, odour, texture, and phase behaviour.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques used in cosmetic stability evaluation, such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and physicochemical testing.
  • Understanding of packaging compatibility assessments and container-closure considerations.
  • Knowledge of cosmetic microbiological quality and preservative efficacy testing principles.
  • Familiarity with relevant ISO standards, including ISO 22716 Good Manufacturing Practices for cosmetics, and applicable cosmetic regulatory requirements.
  • Experience reviewing laboratory reports, certificates of analysis, stability protocols, and product specifications.
  • Ability to identify stability trends, investigate deviations, and prepare scientifically supported recommendations.
  • Strong technical writing, analytical reasoning, and documentation management skills.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, data analysis tools, and electronic quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with distributed technical teams.
What We Offer
  • Fully remote working arrangement within the stated UAE job location.
  • Full-time senior technical role focused on cosmetic product stability and quality evaluation.
  • Opportunities to contribute to formulation improvement and product shelf-life assessment.
  • Collaboration with cosmetic scientists, testing laboratories, packaging specialists, and quality professionals.
  • Professional development in cosmetic formulation science, stability methodologies, and quality standards.
